Take that mask off with the left hand, and keep it in your left hand (see photo). Then scroll down on the TRAINING PAGE, and take a look AT PHOTOS A TO J.

ALL ILLEGAL. A, C, D, F, G, are LEAPS. H, I, AND J, are little LEAPS. B and E are resets (crow hops). Of course this is just my humble opinion.
Also, umpire needs work on mechanics. "Don't hit anybody with that mask, ump!"

I would have to agree with Perry, on every observation. "There's a whole lotta bad pitchin' goin' on."

I would have to say that I think that each photo was an example of an illegal pitch. More and more examples that pitching coaches are teaching such acts, challenging umpires to call it.

The pitchers push it and push it, but if you correct them on any level, they usually adjust right away. They know the correct way, but they will push the envelop to see if you'll make the call.

I agree that they are all illegal. The best thing to do is to correct it in warm-ups or as early in the game as possible, with no base runners. Otherwise it really becomes a no win situation for umpires.

Allan has the right idea! We call that preventative umpiring! And most can adjust, and will, if you bring it to their attention.

To a certain extent, what we see in these photos is very similar to what we see on the field, at least from time to time. Sorry to report that many umpires don't call these illegal for a variety of different reasons. But I think that was covered that pretty thoroughly on here last year.
