| Runners on second and third. Ground ball to first base. Batter is out. Runner from second advances to third and stands on third. Runner from third started to advance home, but returns to third. Now both are on third at the same time. Which one can be tagged out, or can both be tagged out? I would think that the runner that arrived there first should be safe.

| Guess? I would think that the runner that got to the base first would have the right to it.

| The runner that occupied the base at the time of pitch is entitled to it until they pass the next base. The runner from third has the right to third until they cross home plate. So tag the runner that came from second base.

| RULE 8-3-E. The runner that occupied the base first, unless forced, is entitled to the base. In this scenario, tag the runner from second.

| tag both, let the umpire sort it out gary & perry are correct if you're real lucky [on defense] the runner from 3B will think she's out and step off the base, then you'll get 2 outs!
