| Runners on 1st and 2nd. Both steal. Catcher throws down to third base. Ump in the field not really in a good position and calls runner safe. We appeal the play as the plate umpire had a better view. Umps confer and the runner is called out. Should this have been the plate ump's call all along?

| Absolutely, the base umpire's call, all the way! Only two (2) things would warrant an appeal of any kind. The short stop bumped or somehow cut off the base umpire (and the base umpire didin't see the play at all) or if the a ball came out of the third baseman's glove at a weird angle on the foul side of third. Having two (2) umpires doesn't mean that you get to "appeal" everything. Having two (2) umpires means that you cut down on responsibilities to get better angles and better coverage.

| Base umpire's call all the way. Perry has a point, but those things should never happen if you're alert. No appeal on that no way.

| Somebody was lazy or out of postion. Always the base umpire's call. Embarrassing to say the least.

| I absolutely agree with those that responded. The field umpire should have been positioned between second and third, it would be hard to understand how he would not have a good view

| Cindy: If I were you, I'd petition the league for better umpires. The base umpire's call all the way. There's no appeal on that play unless there's something completely out of the ordinary, like Perry stated.

| You know how it is. Some people just go through the motions. Looks like what happened here. It's the base umpire's call all the way.
