| Bottom of the fifth in a very long inning and game. Runner on second 1 out. Batter goes to a 3 ball 2 strike count. Batter hits a line drive to the shortstop who dropps it and then makes a bang bang play for the out. Coaches now think its the 3rd out and call the players off the field. Runner from second runs and toucnes third and then walks down the 3rd base line towards the 1st base dug out, oes not touch the plate, but does not enter dead ball area. Ball is sitting by the rubber, The defensive score keeper finall figures out there is only 2 outs. They run back on the field and the runner goes back and just touches home plate befoire the tag on her is made. Did this run score?

| Runner establishes their own base path (as long as bases are run in proper order), until they are played on. Then they must go directly to the last base touched or directly to the next base. COUNT THE RUN!
