| B1 hits a ground ball to F5 and beats the throw to first base but does not touch the base. F3 catches the thrown ball while in contact with first base, but makes no appeal. What's the correct call?

| If there is no appeal, the runner is safe. If the runner returns to the base and then an appeal is made, the runner is safe.

| Perry, you are right but I wouldn't do that with low level games. Avoid confusion and get it right right away, that's what I meant.
