| R1 on second, two outs with a one ball two strike count on B2. B2 swings and misses for strike three. The pitch goes off the catcher's chest protector down the first base line in foul territory. B2 takes off to first base. On the way to first, with the ball in foul territory the ball goes off the foot of B2 into dead ball territory. Contact with the foot of B2 was accidental. Is B2 out? If so where is R1 placed. If not where do you place both Runners?

| Well, there's no "do over" here, so here's my guess. Hits the runner fair, Batter-runner is out and the inning is over. Hits the batter-runner foul, play on.

| runner is entitled to run to 1st base on the D3 strike. pitch was not controlled by the catcher so it's considered a pitched ball until a fielder controls it. since ball hit the runner's foot and was not kicked all runners are awarded one base from their location at the time of the pitch. batter runner awarded 1st base only because it was dropped 3rd strike. [rule 8, sec 5C]

| Sorry guys...this is a textbook example of interference with a droped third strike. 2013 ASA 8-2-F(6).
Batter-runner is out for the third out of the inning. No need to place any other runners.
