Reading interference in the 2014 rule book (page 125) states about interference:

Rule 33) A-1b says it is interference if the batted ball deflects off on defensive player and the runner intentionally interferes with any defensive player etc... which makes sense to me but on the next page the rule 2. says a runner or batter-runner who is hit by a fair touched or untouched batted ball is interference. Can anyone explain what #2 is referring to?

Just to make sure, you're talking ASA, right?

This appears to be slightly sloppy editing in Rule Supplement #33 (Interference). #33-A-1-b is consistent with Rule 8 section 7 items K & L, as well as Rule 8 section 2 item F-4.

#33-A-2 is not consistent with rule 8, and it is redundant and contradictory with #33-A-1-b.

As written, #33-A-2 ("Runner interference includes... A runner or batter-runner who is hit by a fair untouched or touched batted ball") is NOT how the rest of the book tells us to call it. SOMETIMES that act should be called interference, but there are other times, as you cited, that we should not call interference.
