| Run down between first and second base. Short stop has ball and is running runner back to first and flips the ball to the pitcher covering first basement. Throw gets past pitcher and goes out of play. Where do you place the runner

| Since the runner has already passed first base she is awarded 2 bases from the time of the throw which would be 3rd base

| correct... makes no difference which base the runner is moving towards award is based on which base the runner(s) had attained when the throw was made

| Two (2) bases from the last base touched at the time of the release. Runer awarded third base (second and third).
