| how can two adults observe the same play and see it different ways. i had a coach go ballistic on me for not calling interference on a base runner contacting the second baseman. i did not see contact. i saw the runner going from first to second base in front of the fielder who miss played the ball and all were safe. coach says contact i say not. it makes me wonder if i missed something,or coach rooting hard for their team? gotta trust what you see.

| You don't need to have contact to call interference. The definition of interference is the act of an offensive player or team member, umpire or spectator that impedes, hinders or confuses a defensive player attempting to execute a play. CONTACT IS NOT NECESSARY.

| neal is correct - contact is not necessary. john, sometimes we don't have a proper angle to see everything and if you did not see contact, so be it. maybe there was slight contact which the coach saw but your explanation is "i did not see contact"
