| PLAY- : R2 IS ON SECOND BASE AND R1 IS ON FIRST WITH NO OUTS WHEN B3 HITS A DECLARED INFIELD FLY. THE BALL DEFLECTS OFF F5'S GLOVE AND ROLLS UNDER A FIELD FENCE. RULING?

| With the bases empty, I once saw a third baseman running in for a fair pop up, not more than 10 feet from home plate. She lost it in the sun, it hit her in the head, an bounced off of her head and went right over the fence and into the dugout. The umpire awarded the batter second base. Easiest ground rule double, I ever saw.

| hank, you didn't mention if the ball hit f5's glove in fair or foul territory. since it's the 3rd baseman making the play, it could be near the line. if fair bobby & ron are correct with the 2 base award to the runners on 1st & 2nd bases but the batter is still out. if foul when touched then it's simply a foul ball, no runners move, batter still up. keep in mind those runners do not have to tag up since the ball was not caught
