Clancy's Produces Another Pounding Behind Theobalds 5 RBIs
Clancy's fell behind 2-0 after the top of the first because of some sloppy play but that did not last long as the Tarheel batters would plate 13 runs over the middle 3 innings while pounding out 17 hits. The offense was led by Theobalds 5rbi and 2 hit day. 7 Heels would collect multi hit games including; Didomenico, Aul, Theobald, Seabol, B. Dittmar, Jay Moog, Paul Kubeja. The Pitching staff recorded 9k led by Josh Russell's 5 in just 2 innings. Eric Fichter got the win throwing 4 great innings. Near the end of the game Clancy's suffered what could be a devastating injury to Chris Dittmar in his first game back. Chris made a spectacular play diving for a foul ball in the 6th inn but came up in agony as many teammates rushed to his side. We wish Chris well and hope that it isnt as serious as we think. On a side note Joe Ranalli may have set a record for being the oldest man to play in a DNL game. Joe was forced to play after the injury to Chris as his brother Brandon sat with him while the game was finishing. Joe was like a kid at Christmas, when do I bat when do I bat. The enthusiasm was oozing from his pores.
