Coach Tracy, I have spoken with you a couple times over the last couple months and I must say that I think you are awesome. It is hard to keep kids focused and on task and you always seem to do it without losing your mind. I do see your frustration sometimes, but you always bring it around to the kids by letting them know that they need to step up and get it done. I have seen you push them when they need it and praise them when they deserve it. Keep up what your doing as it works. My daughter cheered for another team in the area that was really good, but she left every practice feeling like a failure as they would push and push her to do things as a flyer, and when she finally did it they never said good job. It was one thing after another every week. When her year ended she said she would never cheer again. It was a sad day! Keep pushing those kids they way you do and keep PRAISING them the way you do. |

Murrieta February 15, 2008 4:14:36 PM Entry ID: 1326846 | Hi Heather, Yes, the teams each practice once a week, and yes, I am the only coach for all the teams. The key to to success is focus. If you are focused when you practice and you listen to everything said and don't goof off, you will learn quicker, which makes it easy to go home and practice on your own. Each girl also has to be ready and willing to participate in whatever position she is put in and be willing to try new things without bias. Many routines have music or moves in them that alone look or sound silly, but when it is all put together, it looks great and keeps the energy up. Do you really practice 1 time a week? I have to practice 4 days a week and it is super hard to keep up. How do you do so well if you only practice one time a week?
