9U PLAYOFFS
Playoffs begin on Sun Aug 11. Standings (percentage) will be taken as of the end of games on Aug. 4. If there is a tie anywhere in the standings then 1. season games head to head or 2. coin toss will determine who is ahead.
Games will not be changed unless there is a rainout or field conflict. In case of rainouts, etc. teams should be prepared to play whenever there is available field time. If this occurs teams could possibly play double headers or two games in a day. Championship games could possibly change due to previous rainouts.
Home team for all Round Robin games will be the team that placed highest in the standings as of Aug. 4.
No matter what field you are playing on, Home team is responsible for paying the Plate ump ($25) and supplying game balls. Away team is responsible for paying the Base ump ($20).
The Home team must email the game score immediately following the game to sackvilleminorbaseball@outlook.com
Home team is the official score keeper so during games it is suggested that each team continually check with the opposing score keeper so there are no discrepancies.
Games can end in a tie except for the Championship game. If a game ends in a tie and you are able to play an extra inning(s) within the 2 hr. 20 min. time limit then the following will be used.
Each team will begin the extra inning(s) with players on first and second, no outs. Example: If in the last regulation inning, the #6 batter had the last plate appearance then the extra inning starts with the #7 batter at bat, the #6 batter at first and the #5 batter at second.
If a game is not completed at the end of regulation time then the score will revert back to the last full inning played. However, if in the last playable inning (does not have to be the open inning), Home team ties or takes the lead then the score does not revert back to the last full inning played. The game will continue until the time limit. If a game is called due to weather, field conditions, darkness etc. then 3 full innings will be considered a game.
Games can be won or lost if the score has to revert back so please hustle your players on and off the field, have your catchers ready and keep the game moving quickly.
Championship games will have no time limit.
