College at Brockport Rugby

The College at Brockport is reaching out to your club to draw the attention of Senior and Junior players who are interested in playing rugby in college. The Brockport Doggies Rugby team was established in 1970, and has had a strong history of successes that we plan on continuing. Currently we compete in the D1A Liberty conference, and compete against schools like Syracuse, University of Connecticut, University of Delaware, Colgate, and the University of Albany. Our current roster for the fall season consists of 25 players and every position is up for grabs when training camp begins. Along with top level competition, Brockport is a SUNY school which offers a lower tuition than you would find at these other D1A rugby schools. If you have any senior players who may be attending Brockport or would like more information on the school and team please contact either myself (Jarad) or Danny our recruitment officer at the below addresses. If Juniors and Seniors for the 2018 Fall Season are interested in Brockport and playing for Doggies for the 2019 season please reach out about attending a game this upcoming semester.

Thank you,

News From Brown University Rugby

Brown University

'd like to connect with anyone (male or female) that may have an interest in Brown University.  Attached is a document that outlines the admissions process.  It's fairly comprehensive so I won't go into much detail here.  Obviously academics will be the first question that is asked.  Financial aid for domestic students is "need blind".  Students are accepted without knowing what their financial aid need is.  Brown is committed to meeting 100% of a students demonstrated financial need.  No more student loans either... Brown is now giving grants.

On the rugby front, we have been steadily building over the last couple of years.  This year we won the Ivy League 7's Championship.  We compete in both 15's and in 7's with the grand plan of further developing both programs through the addition of more rugby athletes.  In the short time I have been on this global recruitment push, we have gone from 17% (2015) to 28% (2016) to 34% (2017) of the program having a rugby background.  Next year (fall 2018) we are slated to be above 40%.

I am not looking for large numbers of applicants.  I'm looking for those that would like to both further their educational goals at a school such as Brown and those that would like to continue with competitive rugby.

Hopefully there's one or two players that come to mind.

From Coach Fautley:

I wanted to introduce myself as the Head Coach of Wheeling Jesuit University Men's Rugby team. I am currently in the middle of my recruiting for the next academic year.

I wanted to ask what seniors you would have graduating this year that have still not made a decision on college? I can offer multiple scholarships to all student athletes that want to play D1 College rugby. I am looking to bring in a large contingent of freshmen for the next academic year and would love to see some footage of some potential recruits that you may have?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

 Cheers,

 Jake
