David Grier Coaching Award

The David Grier Coach of the Year award is in honour of a coach who one day left a baseball game complaining of a headache only to find that he had a tumor the size of an orange in his head. But he came back to the diamond the next day and coached up until the day of his surgery and continued to show up at his son’s games for the rest of the season.  He was a dedicated coach in the league for many years – coaching both House League, All Star and District teams. In honour of his dedication to the league, the game of baseball – and his fight against the tumor – this award was dedicated in his name.
