Kanish Korner - A Review of the Rules 2004
July 1, 2004
Rule #11. Captains must appoint a field representative to check field
conditions before 4:45 p.m. of scheduled game day. Both field reps will then inform their coaches, who then call Sandy Hanrahan if the game needs to be cancelled as she needs to call Valley Umpires no later than 5:00 p.m.
Umpires need to be advised 90 minutes before game time as to any
cancellation or we will be charged the full fee. If it should begin raining after that deadline but appear to be passing showers, the best scenario is to still go to the field as most players & umps would likely be enroute to their respective games and once there, should the ump call the game, we would only be charged travel time.
Prior to cancellation, it is imperative that all fields scheduled
for use be checked by a member of each team and each captain should be
alerted as to the conditions. In the event a team cannot get a rep to the field, captains should be in telephone contact with each other.
