"At each Panther's game my white BMW convertible will be open for local food pantry donations both Mon. & Wed. We desperately need food stuffs like:
coffee
condiments
canned or jarred tomato products
paper goods (TP etc)
toys & cake mix & frosting for small boy's & girl's birthdays
make checks out to 'Ringwood Center for Food Action'
The Toons, Tailgaters and Steel Maidens filled my car with 15 bags of food & the Legal Eagles made a LARGE monetary donation.
So the gauntlet's been thrown ;-)
Thank you in advance. I know I can count on the Ringwood Women's Softball League!"

KANISH KORNER - RULE CHANGES FROM JULY MEETING
These are the rule changes that were voted upon by the board of directors in our league.
1. Runs against will determine placing in the standings if there still is a tie after head to head competition and scoring has been looked at. Run differential is no longer considered. This rule counts this year.
2. Mercy rule: If a team is up by 20 runs at the end of any inning, the official scoring stops there, and any additional scoring does not count. The two teams continue to play until the 5th as if it were a regular mercy rule game.
3. Composite bats are not allowed this year. As far as the bats go, not all composites are equal to steel in batted ball speed, maybe by next year I'll be able to really find a list that shows us which are but I'm unable to do so this quickly. I work outside in the woods every day with no computer access. I know someone's concern was that the composite bats are ASA certified, however, so are some double-walled bats and we don't allow those. Since we are not an ASA league, that means no composite bats this year. We'll hang on to the bats Mike gave us and hopefully we can use them next year.

KANISH KORNER - JULY MEETING
THESE ARE THE NOTES OF THE JULY 2 MEETING:
1. Starting in pre-season 2008, a tentative schedule will be sent to all teams three weeks before the season starts, and any problems about the schedule will be addressed at a second board meeting which will be held two weeks before the season starts. All potential changes will be discussed at that meeting. All teams must vote on approval of the schedule. Only team representatives should come to the Board Meeting (2 for each team). As always, Majority vote will rule on any changes. One vote per team. At that meeting the schedule will be finalized, and ready to be sent out.
2. During the season, any scheduling changes and/or rainouts must be handled by phone. No more emails for important matters.
3. The team representative list will be compiled and sent out. Each team must supply two representatives for the list, with at least two phone numbers and an email.
4. Only Aluminum/Alloy bats are allowed. Composite bats are being looked into.
5. The Slammers have forfeited the 6/25 game vs. the Legal Eagles, and it will not have to be re-scheduled.
