    This page is a listing of the finest players to have ever played for the Connecticut High School Fall All Star Team. The selections were made over the 16 year history of the program, based on batting, pitching, and fielding efforts made by the athletes. It will list the years that the players served on the fall team, which high school and college he attended, and if he was drafted professionally. The listed will be updated yearly with additional players who warrent being part of the all time team.


FIRST BASE



BRIAN FAY--Brian played his high school baseball for Pomperaug High School. He was a member of the LL high school championship team in 2010. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He finished his fall career third all time on the hit list with 22. Brian will play his college baseball for Senia College after he finishes high school this spring.

SCOTT REMBISZ--Scott played his high school baseball for Morgan High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2005. As a member of the fall team Scott was a multi skilled player putting time in both at first base and on the mound. Scott was an outstanding hitter with good skills around the bag. He played his college baseball for Florida International University, where he became one of their top pitchers. Scott signed professionally after college and played the 2010 season in the minors for the Florida Marlins.


SECOND BASE



MIKE FABIASCHI--Mike played his high school baseball for Torrington High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2004 and 2005. As a member of the fall team Mike showed outstanding defensive skills, with the ability to make all the routine plays in the middle of the infield. He was also one of the top hitters on the two squad that he played for. After finishing high school Mike played baseball in college for James Madison University. At the finish of his college career he was drafted professionally by the Oakland Athletics.

DAN PAOLINI--Dan played his high school baseball for Bunnell High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006, and was slated to play in 2007 when he was sidelined by an injury. Dan was a multi talented athlete who excelled both in the field and at the plate. He also picked up a pitching win for the 2006 squad. Dan is playing his college baseball for Senia College, and is currently in his junior year in 2010. It is expected that Dan will be a high round draft pick this June, after being named as a second team D1 All American as a sophomore last spring.


SHORTSTOP



CHRIS KLEPPS--Chris played his high school baseball for Bristol Central High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2003. As a member of the fall team Chris excelled both on the field and at the plate for the Connecticut squad. Chris played his college baseball for Senia College.

A.J. POLLOCK--A. J. played his high school baseball for RHAM High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2004. As a member of the fall team A. J. proved to be the best defensive player, and most likely the finest athlete to ever play for the Connecticut squad. He played his college baseball for Notre Dame University, and was a first round draft pick in the 2009 major league draft. He is currently playing for the Arizonia Diamondbacks.


THIRD BASE



NICK HUDYMA--Nick played his high school baseball for New Britian High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1998 and 1999. Nick was one of the finest four or five players to ever play for the fall squad, excelling on the field at third base, and on the mound. At the plate he ranks in the top four all time in hits (21), runs scored (15), and runs batted in (16). Nick played his college baseball for Fairfield University.

KEN GRAVELINE--Kenny played his high school baseball for Woodland High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006. Excelling both on the field and at the plate, he finished on the all time records in both hits (12) and runs batted in (10). Kenny is playing his college baseball at Rhode Island College, and is in his junior year for the up coming 2011 season.


OUTFIELDERS

 

TIM BINKOSKI--Tim played his high school baseball for North Haven High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2002. The most learned member of the outfielders he was a top defensive player on the field, with a good bat at the plate. In college Tim played for Quinnipiac University where he set the all time record for hits at the school. He played professional baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies, and is now the assistant coach at Quinnipiac University.

BEN FARINA--Ben played his high school baseball for Waterford High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2005 and 2006. Ben excelled as the lead off hitter for the 2006 team and finished his career with 18 hits and 19 runs scored. He is playing his senior year at college this spring at Quinnipiac University.

JEFF HOURIGAN--Jeff played his high school baseball for Masuk High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Jeff finished his all star career second in hits and first in runs scored. He went on to play his college baseball at Clemson University, and the University of Connecticut. He is currently the assistant coach at the University of New Haven.

JAKE MATUSZAK--Jake played his high school baseball for Berlin High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2007. He was the center fielder for the the squad which set the record for most wins in a single fall season with 8. Jake played two seasons for Avery Point and is now on the Central Connecticut State University squad.

MARK MICOWSKI--Mark played his high school baseball for Xavier High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006. One of the best base runners to play for the fall squad he is in the leaders in runs scored and hits all time. Mark played two seasons for the University of Vermont and is currently playing his second and final year at Georgia College.

DWIGHT WILDMAN--Dwight played his high school baseball for Seymour High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1999. He was the clean up hitter on the best hitting fall squad ever put together. Dwight played and stared at Eastern Connecticut State University.

CHRIS WINKEL--Chris played his high school baseball for Amity Regional High School.  He was a member of the fall all star team in 2014 and 2015.  He played first base during his first season, and moved to centerfield for his second.  Chris committed to play college baseball for the University of Connecticut during his sophomore year in high school, and has led his high school squad to three state championships in a row.  It is possible that Chris is the most gifted overall athlete to play for the fall team in the programs history.


CATCHERS



BEN CRABTREE--Ben played his high school baseball for Shepaug Valley. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. He was the only player to play five seasons with the fall team beginning in 1996 as an 8th. grader when he served as the bull pen catcher. Ben went on to play his college baseball at Ohio University, and was drafted professionally by the Detroit Tigers.

JASON PEREZ--Jason played his high school baseball for Seymour High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1995 and 1996. He is at the top of most of the hitting stats for the fall all star team and is most likely the best hitter to ever play for the program. A switch hitter with power from both sides of the plate, Jay signed professionally right out of high school playing for the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies.

MIKE LEONARD--Mike played his high school baseball for Rockville High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1999, and had the finest hitting season ever for the fall team. His combined single season totals of 19 hits, 17 runs batted in, and 11 runs scored will most likely never be equaled. He played his college baseball for the University of Connecticut, and signed professionally for the Boston Red Sox. Mike is currently coaching college baseball for Elms College.

ROB BONO--Rob played his high school baseball for Waterford High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2005 and 2006. Certainly the best defensive catcher to have played for the fall squad, Rob was a top receiver with a plus throwing arm. Rob signed professionally right out of high school with the Houston Astros, and is currently playing for the Florida Marlins in the minor leagues.


PITCHERS



TAYLOR LASKO--Taylor played his high school baseball for Bunnell High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006 and 2007. One of the best multi talented athletes in fall all star history, he picked up two pitching wins on the mound, and 17 hits at the plate for his career. Taylor is in his junior year for the 2011 season at Boston College.

WILL JOLIN--Will played his high school baseball for Guilford High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006 and 2007. He hold the record for the fall squad with 4 mound wins. Will is currently pitching for the University of Connecticut during the 2011 season.

NATHAN RAMIREZ--Nathan played his high school baseball for Trumbull High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1998. He had the finest single season ever for a pitcher on the fall team. Nate picked up three mound wins in four weeks while giving up 1 earned run in 28 innings of pitching, with 42 strike outs. Nate played his college baseball for Davidson University.

MATT HARVEY--Matt played his high school baseball for Fitch High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2004 and 2005. He excelled both on the mound and in the field at first base during his two years with the fall squad, finishing with 2 mound wins. Matt played his college baseball for the University of North Carolina, and was a first round draft pick in the 2010 major league draft. He is currently signed by the New York Mets.

CORY RIORDAN--Cory played his high school baseball for Haddam Killingworth High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2003. He worked with three pitches, and had control of all of them. Cory played three years at Fordham University and signed professionally after his junior year. He pitched in the minor leagues for the Colorado Rockies during the 2010 season.

MIKE MOWEL--Mike played his high school baseball for East Hartford High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1995 and 1996. He excelled both on the mound, in the field, and at the plate to led the fall team for two seasons. Mike was drafted out of high school, and was the first fall all star player to play professional baseball. He played for the Boston Red Sox in the minors.

SCOTT BERNEY--Scott played his high school baseball for Hamden High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1995. After playing two years for the University of Connecticut, Scott finished his college career with Clemson University. Scott signed professionally and played for the Colorado Rockies.

PAT DEAN--Pat played his high school baseball for Naugatuck High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2006. He had excellent control with a good curve ball and fast ball. Pat played college baseball for Boston College, and was a 4th round draft pick in the 2010 major league draft. He is currently in the minor leagues playing for the Minnesota Twins.

CRAIG BRESLOW--Craig played his high school baseball for Trumbull High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1997. He had control of three pitches in the strike zone, and went on to play his college baseball for Yale University. Craig signed pro after his college career, and was the closer on the Oakland Athletics during the 2010 season in the major leagues.

ANDY BRALEY--Andy played his high school baseball for Cheshire High School. He was a member of the fall all star team in 1995. He had two mound wins for the first fall team put together which was one of the most talented pitching staffs ever. Andy played his college baseball for the University of Vermont.

BRIAN MURPHY--Brian played his high school baseball for Sheehan High school. He was a member of the fall all star team in 2011. While picking up two victories on the hill, he became the only pitcher in all star history to pitch the entire fall without giving up a run on the mound. He committed to play his baseball for the University of Hartford.
