Why Play OBA REP Baseball?

Participation in OBA at the rep level offers the following advantages:

  •         Programs beginning with winter training played with the same group of players throughout. Regular season is a minimum 24 games plus play-offs and play-downs. Age divisions are based on birth year
  •        Numerous tournaments across Ontario against other rep teams at the same age and level       Can play any recognized Baseball Ontario programsas well as teams from Baseball Quebec.
  •         Format and governance is very similar to Hockey Canada programs as it falls under the governance of Baseball Canada.
  •         An opportunity to represent the region at provincials (Three possible classifications at each birth year). Provincials are played at season’s end.
  •         Bantams have the opportunity to try out for the region's Ontario Summer Games team every second year.  This year 2003 and 2004 players can try out.
  •         Eligibility to try out for provincial and national teams
  •         Coaches must be trained and certified under the Baseball Canada program.
  •        The opportunity to be a part of the growth of OBA in NCOBA (Kanata, Seaway, Arnprior and Ottawa City) which is improving the game and allowing less travel.
