TYFA and the JR Cougars are committed to the safety of the game and will continue to take the necessary actions to make this game as safe as possible and ensure that the game is around for years to come.
SAFETY is our #1 Priority!!
Concussions - Concussions are something that we take very serioulsy and concussions can happen anywhere. For example, at school on playgrounds, Soccer, Basketball, at home etc. So its just not football! That's we we issue our players the safest equipment like the Speedflex helmet along with a Guardian Cap thats worn at all our practices for extra protection.
But be warned, if we suspect that your athlete has a concusion at either practice or at a game, they are done for the day. We ask that your athlete get seen by a doctor to ensure everything is ok. You may think that your athlete is ok but you never know and we'd rather make sure so theirs no brain damage.
If your athlete does have a concussion or some kind of injury, they cannot practice or play until we receive a doctors note releasing them saying that they can play. This doctor's note MUST BE GIVEN TO THE TEAMS TEAM MOM for their records. Until the Team Mom receives the doctor note, your athlete cannot participate in practices or games.
Please Note: IF A PLAYER DOES HAVE AN INJURY, WE STILL EXPECT THEM TO BE AT PRACTICE TO LISTEN AND CONTINUE TO LEARN SO WHEN THEY DO COME BACK, THEY WON'T BE LOST.
