Practice Policy
1. You are expected to be dressed and ready for practice 15 minutes prior to the start of practice.
2. All players will be dressed in appropriate gear designated by the head coach. Only equipment issued or approved by the head coach will be acceptable.
3. If you will not be able to attend practice for any reason, call or email prior to the start of practice. If you do not, the absence may be considered unexcused. douglas_dean@beaverton.k12.or.us (503) 259-5574
4. An athlete with an excused absence will remain in good standing with the team but their playing time and/or starting position may be effected.
5. An unexcused absence will effect playing time and extra conditioning will be administered. Once an athlete receives their second unexcused absence their status on our team will be in jeopardy.
Prolonged Absences
If a player has a prolonged absence from the team for any reason, upon their return they will serve a 2 game probation and will practice with the scout team only. They will also have extra conditioning for the remainder of the year. At the end of the probationary period their status on our team will be re-evaluated.
Attendance at School
1. Please refer to page 6 in the “Athletic Information Guide”
2. Attendance at school is required to participate in practices or a games.
3. All appointments must be pre-arranged through the attendance office.
Academics and Behavior
1. Any time the coaches are aware of classroom deficiencies or poor behavior by a player, steps will be taken to improve the situation.
Injury Protocol
1. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort in practice, report immediately to a coach.
2. If the coach determines you are injured they will refer you to our athletic trainer.
3. The athletic trainer will assess the injury and do one of the following:
a. Send you back into the practice or game
b. Hold you out of the practice or game and assign rehabilitation
c. Refer you to a physician
d. Once an athlete is seen by a physician, he may not return to participation until signed release note from the doctor is received by our athletic trainer.
Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Policy
1. Please refer to page 6 in the “Athletic Information Guide”
2. Upon their return from any district mandated suspension, they will serve a 2 game probation and have extra conditioning for the remainder of the year. At the end of the probationary period their status on our team will be evaluated.
Lettering Policy
1. Must finish the season in good standing with team.
2. All players who have positively contributed to the success of the varsity program will receive a varsity letter.
3. All seniors whom have been with program for 2 or more years.
Playing Time
Players in our program will be coached during practice sessions by our coaches if they are willing to put forth the effort and show a positive attitude. We guarantee practice time to the players. However, we do not guarantee playing time to anyone. Any concerns regarding playing time should be brought to the immediate attention of their position coach first and then the head coach.
