The RVBSA is a non-profit, volunteer led youth baseball and softball organization. Our baseball program is offered to River Vale kids Grades K-12.  In 2019, over 350 kids participated in the program. The program runs from mid-April until mid-June. Kids play at their current grade level regardless of age, we do not allow “playing up”. Kindergarten Clinic

Sessions are 75 minutes per week on Saturdays. The goal of the clinic is to expose kids to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and age appropriate way. T-ball/coach pitch scrimmages are introduced after the first few sessions with the focus on development and fun -- we do not keep score and everyone gets a turn to bat each inning.  Kids will be divided into small groups to ensure proper social distancing. This clinic is separate from the T-Ball Clinic offered by the Township of River Vale for preschoolers. 

1st Grade Clinic 

Two sessions per week, Saturdays and one weekday.  Focus is on continuing teach fundamentals and rules of the game, while introducing more organized Tee ball/coach pitch games. Kids will be divided into small groups to ensure proper social distancing.

2nd Grade - PeeWee Baseball

Kids will be placed on teams and will play competitive games. All kids are given equal playing time and will play multiple positions. The format is part kid-pitch, part coach-pitch.  There are typically two games and one practice per week (two weeknights and Saturdays). 

3rd/4th Grade Minors Baseball

Full kid pitch (46x60 field dimensions).  Games played against other RV teams as well as teams from surrounding towns.  There are typically two games and one practice per week (two weeknights and Saturdays).  

5th/6th Grade Majors Baseball

Games played against other RV teams as well as teams from surrounding towns.  There are typically two games and one practice per week.  Dates are TBD. 

7th/8th Koufax Baseball

Full-sized field (60x90).  Number of teams depends on enrollment.  RV plays in a multi-town league (Kinderkamack League).  Each team will play games against teams from other local towns. Game schedules released in late March. 

High School Baseball

Open to all high school students in 9th -12th grade from River Vale and Hillsdale.  Players manage the teams with one adult chaperone. Umpires and uniforms are provided.   

REVOLUTION TRAVEL BASEBALL

The River Vale Revolution travel baseball program is open to kids in grades 2-8 (8u-14u).  Any player registered in our recreational program is eligible for consideration for the Revolution.  The Summer Travel season runs from mid-June to the end of July.  In May, the RVBSA will assess each grade based primarily on coach evaluations and teams will be selected.  Where the level of interest allows it, multiple teams will be offered to maximize the number of kids who can participate.
