On Tuesday night in Kendal the Eagles took to the field against the Oshawa Jr. team. The Eagles sent veteran right-hander Troy Foster to the hill. Once again he was a rock for a team that has had some very serious problems on the mound this season. Foster picked up the complete game victory, giving up only four hits and allowing just a single run. He was in control for the entire game and his curve ball was spot on as he struck out eight. Leading the way for the Eagles’ hitters were player coaches, Corey Fenton and BJ Hackett, who each picked up a pair of hits.
Almost a week later, on Monday night the Eagles looked to make it two in a row against the Oshawa Club. The newest Eagle, Lars Clay took to the bump for the Birds on this night. Clay threw well, over seven innings he scattered eight hits, allowing three earned runs and struck out eight. However, the Eagles offence was snake bitten. The Boys in Blue had runners on in almost every inning and were spraying line drives all over the field. But, most of those line drives ended up right at an Oshawa infielder. The end result was another shutout of the teams offence. Chris Stark led the Eagle’s bats with three hits. Rookie lefty, Chris 'Sweat the Jet' Davis, pitched another scoreless inning to maintain his 0.00 ERA.
The Eagles will head to Port Hope to take on the Flyers this Wednesday, 7:30 start. Then the Blue Birds are back in Kendal on Sunday for a game against the Port Hope Jr. team, noon start.

On Thursday August 4th, the Eagles travelled to the Port Hope Town Park to play the Jr. River Rats. Troy Foster took to the hill for the Blue Birds and threw another gem. The Eagles took a 6-5 lead into the ninth inning, Chris ‘Sweaty’ Davis came on in relief looking for the save. He was rocked for two doubles on two pitches and the game was tied. Davis was able to pitch out of the rest of the inning to preserve the tie. However, the following inning Port Hope put runners on the corners and the Birds found yet another way to lose a ball game. With the infield in, the hitter popped one up behind second base, an infield fly was called and two bagger, Jay Hamilton was unable to track the ball down. The runner scampered home and the Eagles lost the game on an infield fly. Foster was magnificent, throwing eight innings, giving up one earned run and striking out eleven. Bryan Landry once again led the offence going 4-6 and John Line had a power surge, knocking out two long balls.
