Q&A FOR PLAYERS
Printable Version of Q&A for Players
Q. Is Pickleball-Hub for me?
A. It depends. Leagues and tournaments aren’t for everyone. Pickleball-Hub is recreational. Ratings are NOT uploaded to any national organizations. But if you love pickleball and like to compete, leagues or tournaments may be your answer! Try it! Regular seasons usually don’t go much longer than 7 weeks/21 games. If interested, winners of leagues may be invited to local and national tournaments. Some will be interested, and some won’t, but that’s OK. Most pickleballers play because it’s fun! Some believe they’ll make a living playing pickleball, and I guess that’s OK too.
Q. What is Pickleball-Hub?
A. Pickleball-Hub is a website used for hosting leagues and tournaments.
Q. Why should we use Pickleball-Hub?
A. It’s easy for the players. Navigating the website is simple. The website shows Divisions, Contact Information, Schedules, Standings, Simplified Ratings, Code of Conduct, and Official League Rules are specific to each division. The website also allows you to upload scores of completed games. In addition, Pickleball-Hub will promote and recruit for your league, will post winner photos on the website (with permission), and display your banner on the website for free.
Q. I love Pickleball but I’m average on good day, usually though I’m a below-average player, should I play in a league or tournament?
A. Maybe. You should review “Basic Player Ratings” and see if there’s a league or tournament that caters to your skill level. Create an Account (it’s Free) to review the posted Leagues and Tournaments.
Q. In my area, pickleball courts are public. You can’t reserve a court. How are games scheduled?
A. Pickleball-Hub has a hybrid scheduling system that has been proven to work. Teams need to communicate and be flexible. Here’s how it works. Pickleball-Hub sets a schedule on a given day. Let’s say, for example, you have 3 games scheduled to be played Sunday, May 1 against Team B. Pickleball-Hub recommends you play those games between the Sunday scheduled and the upcoming Saturday.
Q. How do I set games up?
A. Call the opposing team and figure out a convenient day, time, and location to play the 3 games from Sunday through Saturday.

Team Contact information can be found by selecting TEAMS & ROSTERS
Select appropriate Division & Team
Contact information will be on Team Page
Q. What if, for whatever reason, we can’t play these games from Sunday – Saturday?
A. It’s OK, as long as you get your games played and scores uploaded by the last day of the regular season – it’s counted in the standings.
Q. Can we play multiple teams on one day?
A. Yes, but please show good pickleball court courtesy. Do NOT bully your way onto a court or play longer than an hour if someone is waiting.
Q. What if I know we won’t be available to play week #3. Can we play week #3 the first week of the season?
A. Yes. Be flexible and proactive.
Q. Can I wait until the last week of the season to get all my games in?
A. Yes, but if it rains and games are NOT completed before the last regular season day, the game(s) are forfeited 11-6. Waiting until the end of the season to get games in is a bad idea.
Q. Why do you use this hybrid scheduling system?
A. Most players do not have access to secure a set time and day for pickleball courts, since most courts are public.
Q. Can Pickleball-Hub set up leagues that have set times and days for their games?
A. Yes, but the organizer of the league will have to secure courts.
Q. What is the scoring for regular season and playoff games?
A. Game to 11. Win by 2.
Q. How do I Upload Game Scores?
A. It’s pretty easy.
