I GENERAL

1.1   Purpose – These Bylaws relate to the general conduct of affairs of the Edmonton Garrison Recreational Indoor Soccer League.

II ELIGIBILITY

2.1   Player eligibility will be as follows:

A. Any Regular Force member and Reserve Force currently on “A”, “B” or “C” class may play in the league;

B. League is co-ed, both genders may play on the same team;

C. All teams must submit a nominal roll prior to the commencement of the season;

D. Players listed on a team roster are to play primarily for that ream. On an emergency basis, a player may fill-in for another team (preferably within their unit).

2.2   Playoff eligibility

A. During playoffs, teams must stay within their roster. Players must be on the roster submitted at the commencement of the season.

III RULES

3.1   The league games shall be conducted in accordance with laws of play of FIFA’s Laws of the Game, with the following modifications:

A. Each team will be allowed to dress 17 on the bench;

B. A team must have 5 players to commence the game – including a goalkeeper, if not it is deemed as a forfeit;

C. Unlimited substitution and return to play of all players. Subs can only be made at a stoppage of play and at referee’s discretion;

D. The match will be two 25 minute running halves with a five minute break between;

E. As per FIFA Laws of the Game, except that kick-ins (a kick from the side lines at the point where the ball has left the field play) shall be used in place of throw-ins. All of these kicks will be in-direct kicks. A ball touching partitions in ceiling will be played directly below resulting in an in-direct free kick;

F. Direct free kicks are taped off at designated spots due to player safety. All players must be five metres away during free kicks and two metres from kick in from side lines;

G. There are no offsides in this format of indoor soccer;

H. No slide tackles.

3.2   Equipment:

A. Players must wear numbered jerseys with keepers being a different colour;

B. Shin guards, covered by socks must be worn with appropriate footwear;

C. Goalkeepers must wear keeper gloves;

D. The league will use a size 5 ball.

3.3   Regulations and Discipline

A.  Although players may be penalized for their actions both on and off the playing field, teams and their units/formations are ultimately responsible for their conduct of the team and its members;

B. Additional disciplinary and administrative actions may be taken against players and/or teams as determined by the League Executive and/or Fitness and Sports Manager. The F&S Manager also reserves the right to pursue additional sanctions through the Chain of Command if deemed necessary.

3.4   Schedule and Standings

A. Format of competition will be a league schedule, with division of teams as determined by the Military Sports Coordinator and/or League Executive;

B. Game sheets are required to be filled out prior to each match;

C. If a team has three defaults during the regular season, that team shall be dropped from the league. A team that cannot make a game due to military commitments must contact the opposing team and the PSP Military Sport Coordinator to cancel and/or reschedule the game. This will not count as default. If the game cannot be rescheduled, the team that cancelled will take a loss;

D. Points for stats will be awarded as follows:

Win:  3 points;
Tie:   2 points;
Loss:  1 point; and
Forfeit:  0 points

E. Playoff format will be produced by the Military Sports Department and/or League Executive.

IV FEES

4.1   There are no fees to play in the league.
