The Invaders 2021 season has come to a pleasing conclusion. SD Invaders played 27 games in the 2021 season with an overall record of 9 and 18. In Pacific Shore League play they had a record of 8 and 14. The Invaders had a slow start to the season but they were able to get their first win against the Roughriders, another Pacific Shore League opponent, on June 23 with a dominating 14 - 4 score. The Invaders other wins came off of the Highlanders, Prospect Powerhouse, and Grind baseball, all respectable PSL opponents. Coach Marek Miller and the Invaders were one of the top four teams in the league and made it to the postseason. They played the Grind in a best two out of three opening round of the PSL 2021 playoffs. They fell in both games to the Grind in hard fought battles.

One season stand out for the Invaders was starting pitcher Joowon Jeon who threw the bulk of the innings for the Invaders, throwing in 19 games. He would end the season with an ERA of 1.19 and racking up 75 strikeouts. Offensive standout for the Invaders was Nate Jakobs who played in all 27 games. He finished the season with a batting average of .306 and an on base percentage of .441.

The Pacific Shore League recognized five Invaders players for their great 2021 season performances:

Joowon Jeon was named PSL Pitcher of the Year and was selected to be on first team all-league starting pitchers list. 

Relief pitcher Carter Stoddard was selected as the first team reliever of the year.

Kohei Yamada was selected to be the second baseman as part of the second team all-league.

Nate Jakobs was selected as one of the three outfielders to make up second team all-league selections.  

Yuto Mimura was chosen to be on the second team all-league starting pitching list.  

Lastly, Coach Marek Miller was voted 2021 coach of the year. Awards were voted on by PSL coaches and staff.

The Invaders are looking forward to building off the success of the 2021 season going into the 2022 summer season, which will be here before you know it.
