Important News and Announcements
The Jackson Roller Hockey Adult’s League Spring 2018 Season is just around the corner.
We are excited about the upcoming season and are looking forward to a fun and enjoyable time for everyone.
Please mark your calendars with the important dates listed below.
PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE NOTE ONE BIG CHANGE THIS YEAR IS THAT THE REF FEESARE INCLUDED
IN THE PLAYER/TEAM SEASON FEES. THIS WAY WE DON’T HAVE THE ISSUE WHERE PLAYERS SHOW
UP LIKE LAST SEASON AND CAN’T COVER THE REF FEES.
PLEASE READ AND NOTE AREAS HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW FOR CHANGES!
Our league will again offer an ADULT’s roller hockey league that will play on Friday, Saturday and on Sundays (depending on Make-ups due to weather).
Friday Nights will be the primary game night unless otherwise initiated by email and website posting due to weather issues or league approved game schedule changes as needed.
This year we are again attempting to work in some Inter-league games with other area Township Adult teams, both at our Roller site and also away games at their sites as well.
( This will depend on the cooperation of the other township leagues.)
Depending on the night, the games will start at 6 p.m. (5 p.m. on Sundays), running every hour, ending at 10 pm (the last game is at 9 p.m.).
We have Adult Teams (ages +17up) composing of seven players + Goalie.( under 18 must have parental consent)
We do take scheduling requests; however, we would then ask each team for an additional night during the week to schedule their games.
Games are mostly played on the usual night, but cannot be promised.
THE FOLLOWING CHANGES HAVE BEEN APPROVED AGAIN FOR THE 2018 SPRING ADULT ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE:
1. League will no longer provide team colored jersey.
Each team/player will bring two jerseys to each game.
White jersey with Number and a dark jersey with numbers
Teams assigned Home Bench for schedule game will wear White number jersey
Teams’ assigned AWAY bench will wear dark jersey.
(do not come with a white or colored jersey without a number on back )
This change reduced the cost per player by $25 /season and by team (8 players) by $200 per season
2. Opening Friday night 1st games will be MAY 18th
Last regular season games will be played by July 20th
Playoffs July 21 & July 28th
The cost for Spring 2018 Adult Roller hockey team has been lowered!
***10 games and playoffs is $ 1,150.00 ****plus each player pays an additional $25 per individual for insurance coverage (same as Last year)
The $1,150 team rate applies “ONLY” to teams that submit full payment “BEFORE” season start. After that a team that has entered will
Be charged each player at regular individual (nonteam) player rate of $155 +$25 for insurance.
The past two seasons teams were entered with Roster and a deposit against the team fee only to find out most of the players
Didn’t sign up or intend on playing.
IT WILL NOT BE PERMITTED THIS YEAR. YOU WANT TEAM RATE PAY AS A TEAM UPFRONT AND NOT LATER WHEN YOU TRY TO
PUT A TEAM TOGETHER. IF THIS OCCURS THEN YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE INDIVIDUAL RATE.
Note: This season our coverage again is provided by Sadler Sports Insurance to insure for risk to play and additional cost for liability and player accident coverage.
The GOOD NEWS is we were able to keep the cost to you the same and you gain extra insurance coverage increase from $25,000 per accident to $100,000 per event.
Also you are covered at any JHRDC, Inc scheduled event whether home or away.
Players will need to make separate check out to JHRDC, Inc accompanied along with the individual registration form with all your pertinent information so we can process the coverage for you.
The coverage is based on individual player risks and not team.

Individual Players whom wish to register individually to play and be assigned
to a team by the League the Fee is $155.00 plus $25 for Insurance per player for the season including playoffs.
3. Goalies that are available to play more than one game per week throughout the season to cover teams that have no goalies will pay
A reduced $ 105 REGISTRATION FEE + $25 INSURANCE. You will be assigned to main team and for each team you play extra for in a
Particular week it will be that teams responsibility to cover your ref fees for that game only. You must contribute to ref fees when
Its you main assigned team.
The game play will be the same formatting explained below:
1. Three (3)- FIFTEEN minute periods (RUNNING TIME, NO STOPPAGES).
2. Teams will consist of seven skaters and one goalie. (Eight Members -8 )
Note: four skaters and one goalie must be available at the beginning of game to keep from Forfeit.
Each additional player added to roster will cost player registration fee of $155 each plus the insurance fees of $25
3.The season will be ten games long, plus single elimination playoffs.If weather does not allow the scheduling of 10 gates “On or before” July 20th then the regular season will be considered complete
3. and playoffs will be determined by team standing at that point in time.
4. After July 20 th , “NO” makeup regular season games will be rescheduled or played and there will be no refunds. However, we will give credit of $100 off the next season’s league fees for each team
5. who plays in the next schedule league season event.
The winning teams will receive a Trophy and medals and as well as Trophies & Medals to the 2nd and 3rd place team.
6. Teams will be formed by rink management from those individuals who register separately.

6. Required equipment:
- Helmet (cages are strongly suggested, if you are not wearing a cage you must wear a mouth guard and eye shield. You will not be permitted to play without eye shield or mouth piece. You are responsible
for any injury at your own cost as a result of not wearing cage and mouth piece.
( if you are under 18 years of age you must have a cage & Mouth piece and a waiver –NO EXCEPTIONS!).
- Elbow Pads
- Shin Guards
- Inline Roller Skates, no stopping breaks are allowed
- Hockey Gloves
- Chest protectors
Price:
The team cost is $ 900 for 10 season games and the team is guaranteed at least 2 playoff games (DOUBLE ELIMINATION FORMAT).
Every game, as a team, brings $25 cash for referee fees, and this must be paid before game time.
We cannot accept this in advanced, and we do not include it into the price of the seasonal league registration fees.
The cost of the refs to be shared equally amongst the team members. The team must pay the refs directly “before” each game.
The league will pay all refs fees in the season final tournament.
Each player is required to purchase supplemental insurance which is $25 for the year. Check Payable to JHRDC,Inc.
Once policy is approved and issued you will be provide copy upon request.
It is a supplement to your main coverage and is not the primary insurer for injury.
There is limited coverage as outlined in agreement up to $100,000 per accident.
If the team pays IN FULL at the registration a $50 discount will be granted to the team, making the total TEAM FEE $ 850.

(Once 1st game is played there will be no refunds paid even if the team or a player decides to not participate).
If the team is not paid in full at start of the season, the team will have to forfeit any games scheduled, until the
remaining balance is paid, and as a team, you are responsible to pay the referee fees for BOTH teams ($50 total) in the forfeited game.
Once the team has paid in full, the team will be allowed to play any remaining games.
If a team chooses not to pay the remaining balance, any money paid to J.H.R.D.Club,Inc. will not be refunded and the team
will not be permitted to participate in the spring season league sponsored events.
The League Season tournament Team winner receives a $150 discount, and is only redeemable if the team plays the following season.
This fee will be deducted from the 2017 registration fee when the team reapplies for the new season.
Individuals whom wish to sign up independently for a team must pay the league fee of $125 and $25 insurance coverage fee at time
of registration or a total of $150 to J.H.R.D.C Inc.
Players playing are allowed to play on more than one team for an additional player cost of $150.
APPLIED TO THE SECOND TEAM ONLY. You will be listed as an alternate for that team.
Only two alternative players per team.
If your main team and the team you are an alternative are scheduled to play you must play
For the original team that you signed on with for the season. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
Game format:
1. We play three periods, 15 minutes running time.
2. In the first and second period, under 1 minute it is stop clock time on refs whistle.
In the third period, if a team is losing by a 2 goal deficit or less, the clock stops at 2 minutes on each whistle.
If a team in the third period is losing by more than 2 goals the clock runs and does not stop on the refs whistle.
There is a ten goal margin mercy rule.
Winner receives two points – Loser receives Zero points.
3. Overtime consists of 3 on 3 skaters –one goalie each, for 3
minutes (running time clock does not stop).
If still tied the 4 man each shootout.
If still even the game will be registered as a tie and assigned 1 point to each.
4. Each team gets one timeout per game.
5. Penalties are the standard, no off-sides, and there will be two referees on the rink every
Game on less agreed to by both teams and the league director.
6. RULES OF CONDUCT:
There is ABSOLUTELY NO,
- NO fighting.
- NO leaving the bench during a fight.
- NO third man into a fight.
- NO intent to injure.
- NO spearing or butt-ending.
- NO abuse of officials, physically or verbally.
- NO instigating.
-No Contact play
_ We conduct and operate under club with “SAFE SPORTS POLICY” and will adhere STRICTLY to the policy as outlined on our website.
Any of the above, are subject to league review (management), and can face fines up to
$50, game suspension(s),Termination and/ or prosecution.
If you are fined and are requested to leave the Roller Rink by the refs and league officials then you must leave the justice complex immediately.
If you do not then referees have the league's permission to ask local police to remove player to insure there are no fights or continuations of conflicts
outside the rink after being removed from the game.
If you are fined by the league director you cannot play in the next schedule game or games until fee is paid.
The league will donate your penalty fee to the police benevolent fund here in Jackson.
These are the RULES!!
They will be enforced and we expect fair play and good gamesmanship by all players at all times on and off the rink while at the Justice complex.
7.Game Scheduling and Forfeits:
We do accept game scheduling requests; this means that dates and times will be taken into
consideration before the schedule has been posted. Once the schedule is posted in full,
each team will be allowed to adjust any games or times on the schedule. Each team will
be allowed ONE game to be moved after the first game has been played. This means,
during the season, each team will be given a game that becomes a problem after the first
game. Two days notice is required, and emergencies will be taken into consideration.
If a game cannot be played, the team who is a no show will be given a forfeit and the $25
cash for ref fees MUST be paid at the next game. The team who does show up, will be
given a win, MUST pay the $25 cash ref fee, and will be allowed to skate for that hour on
the rink.
If the league cannot schedule and complete 10 regular season games by the playoff start dates on July 15th due to weather issues then
the league will give some credit adjustments to your teams fee for the 2018 season. No cash refund will be granted or given.
The Club reserves the right to schedule weather delayed games makeup’s on Saturday or Sunday dates prior to the July 15th playoff dates. If team cannot play ,
does not show up to play rescheduled game or refuses to work with league to reschedule weather delay game then no consideration will be given or granted for credit for the next seasons play.
Planning for May 13th, 2017(Friday Night) start to be announced after registrations are completed
