Mission Statement

 Our mission is to provide a fun and safe environment for kids of all skill levels to enjoy the game of dek hockey, learn about being a team, and developing friendships. 

All kids will be treated fairly, be given equal dek time to develop their skills, and will be able to have fun in a "Zero Tolerance" atmosphere

About

The Kennedy Township Dek Hockey League, a non-profit sports organization, was initiated in 2006 and is located at Fairhaven Park hockey rink in Kennedy Township, PA. We offer both competitive leagues and a developmental league for all gender players in the Pittsburgh area for ages 5 - 18.

From modest beginnings, the league has grown to respectable levels with over 275 kids participating.

2009 - 2011 < 50 players

2012 - 2013 < 100 players

2014 = 125 players

2015 = 170 players

2016 = 200 players

2017 = 260 players

2018 = 280 and counting

 The KTDHL has a lighted rink and the league solely financed and installed a fully lit scoreboard on June 21st, 2013 to enhance the dek hockey experience for both our players and fans!

In April, 2017, the KTDHL administrators solely financed the building of covered team benches for both league and community use.

In June 2017, My Floor Needs, LLC generously built and donated a concession stand to the league.

Future Projects

All maintenance and upkeep of the KTDHL rink is provided and financed by the KTDHL. Although we would like to move fast on future projects, we are limited based on how much funding is available through our enrollment and fundraising. 

- New Dek Surface (Current asphalt surface needs to be replaced to provide safe playing conditions)

- Rink Expansion (Current rink size is 116ft x 60ft, much smaller than regulation)

- New Lighting (Lighting not conducive for playing. Need updated cost efficient LED lighting)

- Continued Replacement of Dasherboards (Old boards waterlogged, cracking, falling apart)
