Our first winter tournament of 2012! We came and it rained, and rained, and rained. Hey but we got three games in though! Let's try it again next week and think dry! ..... Congrats to Mariah Ewy on the 1st out of the yard homerun of the season! |

A lot of games were played this weekend. Nine in total! And it was back to business for the Stars! Dedication and hard work! That is the secret to success in this game! We played 7 games in this tournament and persevered in each one. Some of us had to eat a little dirt...the things we do for success. But the team overall plays really well together! It is a pure joy for us parents to watch these Stars play! | April 21-22, 2012 18&U Scholarship Series #2 Swing Into Spring Moore, OK |
We played with the 18 year old teams this weekend looking for some very challenging games. Every 18U team we played was very good and we face some very good pitchers! In the pool we tied 2 of those 4 games. But in the end after achieving the #1 seed, we won 2 single elimination games to win the championship. This was a very challenging tournament with the best teams within a 400 mile region around Kansas City. The Stars played some very good teams on Saturday defeating the challengers: Nebraska Nemesis, St Louis Esprit, Kansas City Monarchs and Kansas City Originals Koop. We were the only team going undefeated. Unfortunately, due to rain, we were not able to play the Nebraska Sizzle, Omaha Quakes Red, and the Cedar City Power. Thank you to all the teams that met us in Platte City to play. You are all outstanding teams and we look forward to playing you again! What a beautiful weekend we had to play ball! At least the part after the big rain storm. Five games in the Pool and we get rained out on Sunday morning. Wow! Thank you Gametime parents for all the work you did on this tournament! IT IS TIME TO GET TO WORK! School is over and we know what that means! Time to play some ball! For the first time ever, the Gametime Stars 97 got to play in Mississippi! With a 500 mile trip, it turned out to be a big success. We met up with one of the best teams from the state of Arkansas, the Arkansas Heat, and fought it out in a homerun feast! At the end of the intensity, the Stars prevailed 3-1 on homeruns. The championship game put us up against a great Blue Angels team who fought the Stars hard. Time to get back to work in OKC and get ready for the OKC Triple Crown! It was NCAA College Woman's World Series week and time to play out-of-town teams that are coming to Oklahoma City! The Gametime Stars 97 were at Reed Park in Midwest City and playing teams from Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota. In the 4 Pool Games the Stars achieved a miraculous success by hitting 5 out-of-the-yard homers, scoring 39 points and giving up zero points! In the end, we played 4 straight games in the single elimination bracket to take the Grand Slam Championship! Good job ladies. Looks like we all have next week off! Everyone have fun! Mission accomplished ladies! We came to this tournament with ONE overall goal. To build the heart and spirit of our game! The A-Game! In preparation of our next two tournaments, you ladies will need to bring that A-Game. And what better way then to play the best teams in Oklahoma. Our order of finish on the Colorado Freedom Invitational was 5th of 50! Yes, we wanted 1st, but it wasn't meant to be this time. We had some true successes though:

We've played for 4 months now and completed 71 games before coming to the WORLD SERIES! We are still National Champions three years in a row and will always hold that honor. It just wasn't meant to be this year for a 4th year. You gave it a good run Gametime Stars! You played 78 games this year with 64 wins, 3 ties, and 11 loses. (Most of those losses to 18 year old teams.) We also had a total of 29 out-of-the-yard home runs, and earned a berth to the 2013 16U Louisville Slugger Independence Day Tournament in Longmont, Colorado next year. This is huge! Enjoy the upcoming School Ball ladies. We will be back to play 2-3 Exposures and Showcase tournaments in October/November and progress to that next level. Shoot for the Stars!
