Sixers Place 2nd in USSSA Cincinnati Classic
Sixers Complete Comeback Win Over Indiana Muckdogs 7-6
Brody Long's single in the bottom of the 7th scoring Ryan Gavigan and Braden Laker completed a comeback by Sixers Baseball over the Silver West Division leaders Indiana Muckdogs. The Sixers plated 3 runs in the final inning for the walk off league win. Jackson Woods, Matt Heile, Nathan Bachmann and Owen Hayes pitched for the Sixers. Dhane Haglage and Gavigan each had 2 hits to lead the Sixers. Luke Kahle added a double. The Sixers improve to 16-2, 3-1 in league play while the Muckdogs drop to 17-6, 5-2 in league.
Sixers Knock Off Springboro Panthers 7-5
Sixers Baseball picked up an impressive road win knocking off Midwest Ohio Division 2 leader Springboro Panthers 7-5. The Sixers improve to 15-1 while the Panthers drop to 16-2. Owen Hayes tossed 5 innings for the Sixers to pick up the Win. Jackson Woods finished the final 2 innings for the save.
Sixers Drop League Contest 6-4 to Sluggers Baseball-Maroon
Sluggers Baseball Club - Maroon defeated Sixers Baseball 6-4 at Blue Ash. The Sixers fell behind early 5-1 after 3 innings. The Sixers chipped away at the lead scoring 1 run in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to bring the score to 5-4 but it wasn't enough as the Sluggers added a late insurance run for the league win. The Sixers were held to 4 singles on the day.
Sixers Pick Up League Win 18-6 Over Cincinnati Stix Navy
Sixers Baseball won for the 6th consecutive game to improve to 14-1 and 2-0 in league play with a 18-6 win over the Cincinnati Stix-Navy in Blue Ash. The Sixers pounded out 13 hits while scoring runs in all six innings. Boston McKibben led the attack with 3 hits including a double and triple (3 RBI's). Brody Long, Owen Hayes (4 RBI's) and Dhane Haglage each chipped in with 2 hits each. Matt Heile (3-0) picked up the win on the mound for the Sixers tossing 4 innings. Nathan Bachmann tossed the final 2 innings for the save.
Sixers Sweep Mason Aftershocks in DH
Sixers Baseball improves to 13-1 after taking 2 games from the Mason Aftershock in Blue Ash on Sunday. In game one, the Sixers dented the plate with 11 runs in the 2nd inning and went on to win 18-5. Nathan Bachmann picked up the win in relief tossing 2 1/3 innings allowing no runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Brody Long, Nathan Bachmann, Owen Hayes and Jackson Woods all chipped in with 2 hits. Dhane Haglage added a triple for the Sixers.
In game 2, the Sixers won a shootout 21-9. The Sixers had 19 hits in the contest led by Owen Hayes with 3. Dhane Haglage picked up the win in relief for the Sixers.
Bachmann Drives in 5, Sixers Defeat Dynasty 14-5
Sixers Baseball picked up a non league win Friday night under the lights in Blue Ash with a 14-5 win over the Dynasty. Boston McKibben opened up on the hill for the Sixers and tossed 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 3. The Sixers racked up 15 hits on the night. Brody Long, Nathan Bachmann (5 RBI's), Kyle Brooks (4 RBi's), Dhane Haglage (2 doubles) and Boston McKibben all chipped in with 2 hits each.
Sixers Baseball Downs Cincinnati Galaxy Black 5-2
Sixers Baseball picked up its first league win on the year with a 5-2 victory on the road over the Galaxy Black. The Sixers broke open a pitchers duel plating 2 runs in the 5th. Brody Long singled home Jackson Woods to get the scoring started, Long later scored on a wild pitch for a 2-0 lead. The Sixers pushed the lead to 5-0 with 3 runs in the 6th. The 5 runs would be enough for the visitors, as Sixers starting pitcher, Owen Hayes was dominating. The Lefty carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning before allowing a hit with 1 out. Matt Heile finished the game on the mound for the Sixers for the save.

Warthogs Snap Sixers Streak at 8
The Warren County Warthogs defeated Sixers Baseball 6-3 in non league action on Saturday. The Warthogs plated 3 runs in the 1st inning and 1 in the second to take an early 4-0 lead. The Sixers plated 3 runs in the 5th to claw within 1 run 4-3. The comeback fell short as Warren County added 2 insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th for the final runs in a 6-3 victory. Boston McKibben took the loss on the mound for the Sixers allowing 4 runs on 5 hits in 2 2/3 innings of work. McKibben also had the lone Sixers single for the offense. The 8-1 Sixers return Thursday at they travel to play the PYO Patriots in a non league game.
Sixers Baseball Improves to 8-0, Defeat Maderia 7-2
The Sixers used a strong pitching performance by Owen Hayes to improve their record to 8-0 on the season. Hayes allowed 1 hit over 5 innings of work while striking out 5 to pick up the win for the Sixers. At the plate, the Sixers were led by Braden Laker and Nathan Bachmann with 2 hits each.
Sixers Win Over Sycamore 15-9
Sixers Baseball improves to 7-0 with a 15-9 win over the Sycamore Squadron in the first game of the day for the Sixers. The Sixers used a 3 run 2nd inning to take a 5-3 lead and never looked back. The Sixers were led at the plate by Jackson Woods with 3 hits including 2 doubles. Ryan Gavigan hit his 3rd homerun on the year along with 6 RBI's in the game. The Sixers used 5 pitchers in the contest, Matt Heile picks up the win tossing the first 2 innings.

Sixers Baseball improved its record to 4-0 on the season with a road victory at Lebanon 18-7. The Sixers broke open the game plating 8 runs in second inning. The Sixers pounded out 12 hits in the win. Ryan Gavigan and Jackson Woods each had 3 hits to lead the Sixers. Boston McKibben chipped in 2 hits including a double and a walk. McKibben extended his streak of reaching base safely to 10 in a row, a new Sixers record. Luke Kahle led the Sixers with 4 RBI's. Brody Long (1-0) tossed 3.2 innings in relief to pick up the win.
Sixers Baseball won big over the Red Dragon's 16-1 to finish 2-0 in pool play at the Hatfield & McCoy Tournament. The Sixers (3-0) pounded out 10 hits during the game. Ryan Gavigan set a Sixers Baseball record with 2 homeruns in the game along with 4 RBI's. Braden Laker also hit a homerun for the Sixers, his first of the season. On the mound, Gavigan (1-0) got the win allowing only 1 run on 1 hit over 3 innings of work.
Sixers Baseball Defeats MVP Baseball 7-4 in Tournament Opener
Sixers Baseball rallied for a 7-4 victory over MVP Baseball in the first round of the Hatfield & McCoy Tournament. The Sixers improve their season record to 2-0 with the win. Boston McKibben (1-0) tossed 5 innings allowing four runs, 1 earned while striking out 2 and walking 1. Owen Hayes tossed the final inning for his first save of the season. The Sixers used a 6 run 3rd inning to take a 6-2 lead. Matt Heile led the attack with 2 hits for the Sixers. The Sixers return at noon tomorrow for game 2 of the tournament, they are set to play the Red Dragons.
Two Sixer Pitchers Combine To Shut Out Diamond Elite in Season Opener
Matt Heile (1-0) and Kyle Brooks combined on a 4 hit shutout victory in the season opener for the Sixers. Heile allowed 3 hits in 3 innings while striking out 5. Brooks pitched the final two innings allowing only a single and striking out 1 for the save. At the plate, the Sixers were led by Nathan Bachmann who had 2 doubles and 4 RBI's. Brody Long and Braden Laker also chipped in 2 hits. The Sixers return to action tomorrow night in the first round of the Hatfield and McCoy's Tournament as they play MVP Baseball at 7:30pm.
Sixers Baseball Drops Back And Forth Game with Mason
Sixers Baseball fell 11-8 to the Mason Monarchs in preseason action on Sunday. The Sixers plated 6 runs in the top of the 5th to take an 8-5 lead. The Monarchs scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th for the victory. The Sixers were led at the plate by Jackson Woods with 3 hits including a double. Owen Hayes and Braden Laker each chipped in 2 hits. The Sixers close out the preseaon with a game on 3/27 vs. Lancers Baseball. The Sixers will be at the Diamond Elite on opening day 4/12.

Sixers Baseball Picks up Exhibition win vs. Lebanon
Sixers Baseball picked up its first win of the preseason with a 19-3 win on the road against the Lebanon Warriors. The Sixers plated 6 runs in the first and 7 in the second to build a commanding lead. Nathan Bachmann and Owen Hayes led the Sixers with 2 hits each. Braden Laker had a triple and 3 RBI's and Kyle Brooks added a double for the Sixers. On the mound, Nathan Bachmann tossed 1 2/3 innings allowing only 1 run while striking out 2 for the win.
Big Inning Pushes CBC Past Sixers in Scrimmage
Sixers Baseball drops to 0-2 during the preseason with a 9-1 loss to the Cincinnati Baseball Club. Sixers starting pitcher Boston McKibben tossed the 1st inning allowing no hits and punched out 2 hitters in his one inning of work. The Sixers tied the score at 1-1 in the top of the 3rd inning. Brody Long reached base on a walk, stole second base and advanced to 3rd on a throwing error. Dhane Haglage delivered a single to score Long and tie the game at one. CBC broke the game open plating 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. The Sixers return to preseason action Thursday as they travel to Lebanon to face the Warriors.
Sixers Fall to Stix in Scrimmage Opener
Sixers Baseball and the Cincinnati Stix (Bashardoust) opened the 2018 season with a scrimmage on Wednesday. The Stix topped the Sixers 5-0 in four innings. The Sixers were held without a hit in the contest. On the mound, Kyle Brooks and Ryan Gavigan made their Sixer debut. The Sixers are back on the field Saturday when they tangle with CBC at Blue Ash (turf).
Sixers Baseball will kick off the tournament portion of the 2018 season playing for the first time in the Hatfield & McCoy tournament April 14th and 15th. The Sixers were slated to play in the Masters of Diamond Tournament in Beavercreek Ohio - due to low numbers the tournament was cancelled.
