Joe Tolosky, 4th Ward Cardinals

Tolosky batted .533 (24-45) with two doubles, one home run and 15 RBI as the Cardinals captured the regular-season crown with an undefeated 16-0 record.

Billy Davis, Meron's Expos

Davis batted .500 (16-32) with three doubles, one home run and eight RBI for the Expos.  On the mound, Davis compiled a 2-2 record with 29 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings of work.

Kowalowski batted .552 (37-67) with eight doubles, one triple, one home run and 14 RBI to lead the Miners offense.

Davis compiled a .617 batting average (29-47) and a 6-2 record on the mound for the CR Tunes Mudhens. Davis had four doubles, five triples and drove in 19 runs.

Meachem powered the Miners to a 15-4 regular-season record with five doubles, three triples and three home runs.

David Davidson, CR Tunes Mudhens

Davidson batted .600 (30-50) as the Mudhens captured the regular-season championship with a 14-3 record. Davidson added four doubles and three home runs and drove in 22 runs.

Stephen Peryea, Altona Hornets

Peryea earned his second consecutive MVP award by earning the triple crown. Peryea hit .627 (32-51) with 10 home runs and 33 RBI. He also rapped out eight doubles and scored 28 runs.

Peryea powered the Altona Hornets to the CVBL crown by batting .714 (40-56) with 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 35 RBI.

Rockhill batted .510 with seven doubles, one triple and six homers to pace the Mudhens attack. Rockhill also recorded a 5-0 record on the mound.

Kowalowski led the league in batting and drilled six doubles and four homers in leading the Miners to their second consecutive regular-season title. Peryea led the league in home runs with six.

Burdo led the Mudhens to a 17-3 regular-season record and the Southern Division pennant.  Burdo ripped five doubles and a pair of home runs.

Davidson batted .542 with six doubles, seven homers and 28 RBI and recorded a perfect 7-0 record as the Mudhens captured a share of the regular-season title. Baker batted .383 with five doubles, three triples and two homers, and recorded a 5-1 record for the Miners.

Peryea was named the Most Valuable Player after leading the Hornets to a Northern Division championship with a 14-4 record.  Peryea drilled 11 home runs during the 18-game regular-season.

& Frank Buksa, Plattsburgh Cardinals

LaBarge was named the Northern Division MVP after leading the Hornets to a perfect 18-0 regular season. LaBarge tied for the lead league with nine doubles and drilled one homer. Buksa led the Cardinals to a share of the Southern Division title, hitting three doubles and four homers.

Steve Criss, Plattsburgh Cardinals
& Stephen Peryea, Altona Hornets

Criss was named the MVP of the Southern Division as the Cardinals captured a division title for the fifth consecutive season. Criss slugged a league-record 13 homers and added five doubles. Peryea led the Hornets to the Northern Division title in their first-year back in the CVBL after a four-season absence. Peryea led the league in RBI and tied for the lead league in triples (3). He also slugged 11 homers.

Criss compiled 28 hits, including a league best 8 homers, to go along with four doubles, a triple and 24 RBI, in leading the Cardinals to their fourth consecutive regular-season title. Paepke batted .408 with three homers and 22 RBI and compiled a 3-1 record on the mound for the Lakers.

Frank Buksa, Plattsburgh Cardinals

Buksa batted .400 (24/60) and led the league with 10 home runs and 27 RBI as the Cardinals won their third consecutive regular-season title. Buksa also scored 20 runs.

Alapa led the league in hitting at .477 (21/44) with two doubles, two triples, one homer and 13 RBI. Buksa batted .404 with three doubles and five home runs to lead the Cardinals to their second consecutive regular-season championship.

Ryan batted at a .605 clip to go along with two doubles, four homers and 20 RBI.

Barnard led the Midas Mudhens to the American Division title with seven doubles and a home run.

Baker pitched and hit the River Rats to the American Division title. Baker drilled four doubles, two triples and three home runs at the plate and finished with a 7-2 record on the mound.

King led the league in hitting with a .576 average (34/59). King also led the league in hits, was second in runs scored (26), second in home runs (8) and second in RBI (26). He opened the season with a record-setting four home run game against the Plattsburgh Raiders. Ebersole finished the season with a .509 average (27/53) and contributed two doubles, one triple and a pair of homers as the Hornets reached the CVBL final.

Ewald led the league in hitting with a .452 (19/42) average. Ewald had four triples, two homers and 16 RBI as Peru recorded the league's first-ever perfect season.

Dick Zerrahn, Club 86 of Saranac Lake

Zerrahn led the league in hitting with a .434 average and runs batted in with 20. Zerrahn collected 23 hits in 53 at bats, including five doubles.

Stafford Branch, Saranac Lake Merchants,
& Marty Collins, Peru & Pete Camelo, Saranac Lake Merchants

Stafford Branch batted .489 (22/45) with three doubles, two triples, two home runs and 16 RBI. On the mound Branch compiled a 5-3 record with 82 strikeouts. Collins was 7-2 with a 3.72 earned-run average. He also struck out 52 in 75 innings of work. Camelo hit .442 (19/43) with two homers and 16 RBI, and compiled a 4-0 mound mark with a 1.33 earned-run average.

Tom Hackett, AuSable Forks Spirts

Hackett led the league in batting with a .492 average. Hackett collected 30 hits in 61 at bats, including five doubles, one triple and three home runs. He also drove in 15 runs. Hackett also recorded an 8-4 record, with 100 strikeouts and a 3.12 earned-run average.


1978
John Zerrahn, Peru

Zerrhan won his second consecutive MVP with a 9-3 record and a 1.81 earned-run average. He finished second in the league with 99 strikeouts.


1977
John Zerrahn, Peru

Zerrahn compiled an 11-3 record, including five shutouts, and a 1.38 earned-run average to lead Peru. Zerrahn also recorded 135 strikeouts in 111 innings pitched. At the plate, Zerrahn batted .302 with a pair of doubles, one homer and 11 RBI.


1976
Glenn Petrashune, Lyon Mountain Miners

Petrashune captured the triple crown hitting .500 (27 for 54) with five home runs and 23 RBI. Petrashune also ripped a pair of doubles. He also recorded a 7-2 record, a 1.16 earned run average and had a league-leading 78 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched.

Tommy Hackett, AuSable Forks Spirits

Hackett combined mound and batting excellence to win the MVP. Hackett recorded a 6-4 record with a 1.56 earned-run average. Hackett recorded 91 strikeouts in 69 innings of work. At the plate, Hackett batted .400 with a league-leading seven home runs to go along with eight doubles and 17 RBI.

Matt Cronin, Dannemora Falcons

Cronin finished the season with 21 hits in 50 at bats to lead the Falcons. Cronin collected four doubles, one triple, 11 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Gary Giroux, Peru

Giroux finished second in the league with a .415 batting average and fifth in the league with 15 RBI. Giroux also drilled two doubles.

Mike St. Louis, Peru

St. Louis finished with a 5-1 record, pitching 48 1/3 innings and striking out 58. He finished the season with a 3.56 earned-run average. He was also named the MVP of the CVBL-Northern Valley Baseball League All-Star Game in July.
