SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO POST BUT I HAD TO TURN AROUND AND DRIVE TO OHIO SUNDAY MORNING FOR SOME WORK. ANYWAY GOT BACK INTO TOWN TODAY AND JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS&THANKS ALOT!!! FOR THE JAGUARS LINING THE FIELD AS THE DOLPHIN JR. MIDGETS TOOK THE FIELD, ( AND I MEAN "TOOK" THE FIELD, 40-14) ALSO THANKS TO MY JAG COACHES AND PARENTS THAT HUNG AROUND TO HELP US "MAKE SOME NOISE" FOR OUR TEAM!!! YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH WE MISS YOU GUYS AND LOVE YA ! I'M JUST GLAD YOU WERE DOWN THERE WITH US. ALAN LOOKS LIKE THE FILM PAID OFF, YOU SURE SHUT THE CHARGERS DOWN.. MIKE , YOUR PEEWEE'S JUST MADE SURE MY HEART COULD STILL TAKE STRESS, WHAT A GREAT GAME. HEARD ABOUT THE FIELD WHEN YOU GUYS GOT BACK. YOU GUYS ARE THE BOMB. There are some people who live on this road that have complained about speeding, thus there has been highway partol running radar on this road. Please do the speed limit of 35. Also the directions to our field are go 1.6 miles past South Point High school and turn left on boat club road, go to the end of the road. The parking lot is at the end of road on the right. Do not stop at first parking lot on the left. This is reserved for officals and BO workers. You will park in the large graveled lot and then walk to the gate to pay to enter. Good luck to all your teams and we hope you all enjoy your day. We have some bleachers but a chair may be a good option. Concessions are in left field of the lower baseball field. No coolers please.......... |

Also giving him memories that will last a life time. He is playing middle school ball this year and it is going to be hard not having games on Saturdays anymore, but you can bet that we will be there in the stands. She was 88 years old and he was very close to her. Alan has always been their for us and our children through the years, he is a great guy and coach. So if you could please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers..... Alan we are here for you... Love everyone from the Union Road Optimist |

gastonia May 12, 2009 1:58:15 PM Entry ID: 1623205 | Anyone interested in working the race this weekend we are going to meet at the union road club house at 8:30 am this Sat the 16th to follow each other over. We are supposed to sign in at the race trac at 9:00 am. If you are going to drive on over to the trac be sure and park in the non profit volunteer parking lot I believe that it is parking lot R then once you park you will take a tram over to the front of the race trac and you will see tables set up to sign in. You will tell them you are volunteering for Union Road Optimist and you are working the Jim Beam Tent and they will sign you in and tell you where to go. I will be at the tent and they will call me if you have any problems. You need to remember that you must wear a White collared shirt and khaki pants and tennis shoes. No one under sixteen is allowed to work. If you have any questions please call me at 704-576-0554. If you plan on working please call me and let me know so i can make sure you have taken you alcohol test online. ******Remember we are working next weekend also for the Coca Cola 600 and we need a lot of people to volunteer their time because this is a good way for our club to make good money. |

HE WILL BE HAVING SURGERY TODAY TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE (TUES.) HUNTER IS A "TUFF KID". HE TOOK HIS INJURY YESTERDAY LIKE A TRUE CHAMP ! We are going to get an early start on signups for ages 5 thru 13. I need anyone interested in coaching to also give me a call. Just because you coached last year doesn't mean you are the coach of that same team this year. We are going to make coaching changes to several of our teams. If you are interested then it is time to step up to the plate. We will carry the maximum on our teams and if we can have 2 teams we will but this will be in signup order and not trying to stack one team. We will have a great baseball season if we start getting our plan together soon. Thanks and have a safe and happy holiday season. |

Gastonia December 16, 2008 1:42:43 PM Entry ID: 1528365 | I would like to say thanks to all the fans and people who worked behind the scenes this season...We made it to Florida and had a blast...The players were wonderful and had the time of their life...I would like to give a special thanks to Coach Mike Pressley for his valiant effort and patience with the boys...You are a true leader and gave my son someone to look up too during the season...Thanks to Howard Collmar for putting up with all the drama that goes along with having so many different personalities in one organization. Mandie Payne you know I will always have the upmost respect for all you did while Isaiah was there with Union Road...I really made a true friend in you...You know if you need me just call I will do what I can...Coach Alan Melton thanks for teaching the fundamentals to Isaiah and showing him that he could do it and did do it for the past 3 years...Keep up the great work...Unfortunately, this is Isaiah's last year and I will miss seeing you guys...Again thanks for the lasting memories that Isaiah as well as myself will never forget...Thanks again... |

Even though they lost I would like to tell them they had a great season and they have no reason to hang their heads low, hold your heads high. You guys worked very hard to get where you are today. Congrats for making it to Florida, you deserved it. You guys put in alot of time and effort. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU GUYS !!!!!! Have a safe trip home and we will see you when you get back... |
