Patriots finish with a record of 22-6
The Powdersville Patriots Baseball Team finished the 2016 season with a overall record of 22-6. This was a very special season on the diamond for the Patriots. They accomplished a lot of team goals. The Patriots won there first Region Championship, won there first District Championship and made it to the Upper State Semifinal game. The Patriots were led by 2 seniors- JT Rowlands and Nathan FitzSimmons who have been starters for the varsity program since there freshman seaon. During this time they have gone 51-37 overall, 36-21 in region play including 31-12 during the past 3 seasons in region play. Congrats to all who were involved in this special season. Go Patriots!!

Patriots season comes to an end. Finish the season with a 22-6 record
The Patriots lost on Wednesday to Strom Thurmond by a score of 8-3. With the loss, the Patriots season has officially came to an end. The Patriots finished the season with a 22-6 overall record. Go Patriots!!
Patriots drop Upper State game to Cheraw 5-4
The Patriots lost 5-4 to Cheraw on Monday in the Upper State winners bracket game. With the loss, the Patriots will be back in action on Wednesday against Strom Thurmond. The winner of the Powdersville and Strom Thurmond game will travel to Cheraw on Friday for the Upper State Championship. With the loss, the Patriots fall to 22-5 on the season. We need a big crowd on Wednesday. Go Patriots!!
Patriots open Upper States with a 4-3 win over #1 Strom Thurmond. Improve to 22-4 on the season
The Powdersville Patriots baseball team opened the Upper State round with a 4-3 victory over Strom Thurmond. Strom Thurmond was ranked #1 in the state for 2A. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the win on the mound pitching a complete game. Bookbinder allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 1 BB and 5 strike outs. The Patriots were led at the plate by Sophomore Gavin Agin who was 3-3 with an RBI. Senior JT Rowlands also was 2-4 with a run scored. The Patriots will play at Cheraw on Monday, May 9 in the upper state winners bracket. With the win, the Patriots improved to 22-4 on the season. Go Patriots!!
Patriots win the District, improves record to 21-4!! Moves on to the Upper States
The Powdersville Patriots baseball team defeated the Buford Yellow Jackets on Wednesday, May 4th by a score of 5-3. Junior Ryan Powers picked up the victory on mound for the Patriots pitching 6 innings allowing no earned runs with 2 K's. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the save in the 7th inning. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Paul Altieri who was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Sophomore Gavin Agin also was 2-3 with an RBI and stolen base. The Patriots will travel to either Strom Thurmond or Mid Carolina for the opening game of the Upper State tournament. With the win, the Patriots improved to 21-4 on the year. Go Patriots!!
Wednesday, May 4th- District Championship at Powdersville
Patriots defeat Buford by a score of 9-5 improve record to 20-4
The Powdersville Patriots baseball team defeated the Buford Yellow Jackets on Saturday, April 30 by a score of 9-5. With the win, the Patriots will host the District Championship Game on Wednesday, May 4th. With a win on Wednesday, May 4th, the Patriots will advance to the Upper State Championship Round. Junior Ryan Powers picked up the win on mound pitching 3 scoreless innings in relief. The Patriots were led offensively by Junior Paul Altieri who was 3-4, with 2 runs scored, 3 doubles and 2 RBI's. Senior Nathan FitzSimmons was 2-3 with a run scored and Senior JT Rowlands added 2 RBI's. The Patriots improved to 20-4 overall. They will be back in action on Wednesday, May 4th against the winner of the Buford and 96 game scheduled for Monday. Go Patriots!!

Patriots open playoffs with a WIN!!
The Powdersville Patriot Baseball Team defeated Ninety Six High School by a score 6-5 on Thursday Night in the opening game of the Playoffs. Ninety Six is the two time defending State Champions from 2A. The Patriots fell behind 4-0 after the first inning but continued to battle all night and eventually took the lead in the bottom of the 6th inning. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the win with a complete game and only threw 64 pitches. Bookbinder allowed 1 run on 5 hits, no walks and 2 strike outs. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Paul Altieri who went 4-4 on night with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Senior JT Rowlands was 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles and an RBI. Sophomore Gavin Agin also went 2-4 on night with 2 stolen bases. Junior Ryan Powers drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the 6th inning. Powers finished the night 2-4. With the win, The Patriots improved to 19-4 overall. The Patriots will be back in action on Saturday as they host the Buford Yellow Jackets in the winners bracket game. First Pitch is scheduled for 1:00. Go Patriots!!

Patriots win the Region Championship!!
The Powdersville Patriots defeated the Carolina Trojans on Wednesday night by a score of 17-1. With the win. the Patriots won the Skyline Region Championship. It is schools first region championship in baseball. With the win, the Patriots improved to 18-4 overall and finished 11-3 in the region. Playoffs start on Thursday, April 28th with the Patriots playing at home against the either Batesburg-Leesville or Ninety Six. Game time will be 6:30. Go Patriots!!

Patriots defeat Carolina on Tuesday 11-1
The Patriots defeated the Carolina Trojans on Tuesday Night by a score of 11-1. Freshman Bobby Olsen picked up the complete game victory for the Patriots. Sophomore Gavin Agin led the Patriots at the plate going 3-3 with a Homerun, 5 RBI's, 3 runs scored and a stolen base. Junior Colton Barbary added 2 hits and Senior Nathan FitzSimmons added 2 hits also. The Patriots improved to 17-4 overall and 10-3 in the region. Go Patriots!!
Patriots to finish regular season against Carolina
On Tuesday, April 19 Powdersville will host Carolina at 6:30. It will be senior night as the Patriots honor there 2 seniors from this year ball club. Come on out and support the seniors and cheer on the baseball team as they battle for a region championship. On Wednesday, April 20 Powdersville will travel to Carolina for the regular season finale. Game time is 6:00 on Wednesday. Go Patriots!!

Patriots take 2 from Blacksburg
The Patriots won the 2 games series from the Blacksburg Wildcats by a score of 11-7 on Thursday night and 10-1 on Friday night. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the win on Thursday night by pitching 6 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 3. Senior JT Rowlands added 2 hits on the night and Juniors Colton Barbary and Paul Altieri also contributed with 2 hits. On Friday night, Senior JT Rowlands picked up the win going 6 innings. Junior Paul Altieri led the way at the plate going 3-4 with 2 runs scored. Junior Paul Altieri also went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. With the wins, The Patriots improved to 16-4 overall and 9-3 in the region.

The Patriots defeated the Berea Bulldogs on Monday night by a score of 4-2. Junior Colton Barbary led the way at the plate going 3-4. Junior Ryan Powers picked up the win on the mound. The Patriots improved to 14-4 overall and 7-3 in region. They will be back in action on Thursday, April 14 as they travel to Blacksburg for a region contest. First pitch scheduled for 6:30. Patriots Sweep Chesnee
The Powdersville Patriots defeated the Chesnee Eagles on Friday by a score of 7-6 to complete the series sweep. The Patriots were led at the plate by Senior JT Rowlands who was 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Junior Paul Altieri also added 2 RBI's on the night. Altieri also picked up the win on the mound in relief. The Patriots improved to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in the region. The Patriots will be back in action on Monday, April 11 at Berea. Game time-6:30. Go Patriots!!

The Powdersville Patriots defeated the Chesnee Eagles on Thursday Night by a score of 6-5. Junior Paul Altieri picked up the win for the Patriots. Altieri also contributed 2 RBI's on the night. Senior Nathan FitzSimmons added a RBI also. Sophomore Gavin Agin added 2 hits and 2 stolen bases also. The Patriots improved to 12-4 overall and 6-3 in the region. The Patriots defeated Pendleton on Wednesday night by a score of 6-2. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the win on the mound pitching a complete game. The Patriots improved to 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the region. They will travel on Thursday, March 31 to Pendleton for another region game contest.

The Powdersville Patriots beat the Landrum Cardinals on Friday by a score of 6-1. Junior Paul Altieri picked up the win on the mound for the Patriots pitching a complete game. The Patriots improved to 10-3 overall and 4-2 in the region. The Patriots will be back in action on Thursday, March 31 as they travel to Pendleton for a region match up.

The Patriots dropped a region game to Landrum by the score of 2-0. Junior Colton Barbary led the Patriots at the plate. The Patriots overall record is 9-3 and 3-2 in the region. The Patriots will be back in action on Friday with Landrum traveling to Powdersville. Go Patriots!

The Powdersville Patriots baseball team defeated the Chirst Church Cavaliers 14-4 on Monday. Freshman Boby Olsen picked up the victory on the mound. With the win the Patriots improved to 9-2 (3-1) overall. The Patriots will be back in action on Wednesday, March 23 as they travel to Landrum who is the leading the region with a 5-0 record. Powdersville splits region series with Liberty
The Patriots beat the Liberty Red Devils on Thursday night by a score of 6-0. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the win on the mound with a complete game shutout. On Friday night, the Patriots lost 5-2 to Liberty in region action. The Patriots have an overall record of 8-2 and 3-1 in region. The Patriots will be back in action on Monday against the Chirst Church Cavaliers. Go Patriots!!
Powdersville defeats Berea on Monday Night
The Patriots defeated the Berea Bulldogs by a score of 17-5 in 5 innings on Monday Night. Freshman Bobby Olsen picked up the victory on the mound for the Patriots. Junior Blake Launius also pitched 2 innings in relief. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Ryan Powers who was 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 5 RBI including a Grand Slam. Junior Paul Altieri also went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Junior Duffy Smith was 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. The Patriots improved to 7-1 (2-0) on the season. They will be back in action on Thursday, March 17 as the Liberty Red Devils come to Powdersville. First pitch scheduled for 7:30. Go Patriots!!

The Powderville Patriots varsity team defeated Woodruff by a score of 3-2 on Friday Night. Junior Ryan Powers picked up the win on the mound going 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5. Junior Paul Altieri picked up the save. Altieri also added a hit and RBI. Sophomore Gavin Agin added 2 hits and Sophomore Keith Becknell also had a RBI on a sac fly. The Pariots improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the region. They will be back in action on Monday, March 14 against Berea. First pitch scheduled for 6:30. Go Patriots!!
Powdersville defeats Woodruff behind a strong pitching performance from Josh Bookbinder
The Patriots opened region play with a 3-1 victory over the Woodruff Wolverines. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder pitched a complete game allowing one run on 2 hits. Bookbinder also had 6 strike outs. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Colton Barbary who had 2 hits including a nice play at 2nd in the top of the 6th inning. Junior Paul Altieri also added a double. Senior Nathan FitzSimmons had a 2 run double in the bottom of the 6th inning that led to the Patriots getting the win. The Patriots improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the region. These two teams will lay again on Friday Night in Woodruff. Game time scheduled for 6:30. Go Patriots!!
Patriots win 9-4 on Opening Night
The Powdersville Patriots opened the 2016 season with a 9-4 victory over the Christ Church Cavaliers. Freshman Bobby Olsen picked up the victory on the mound. Junior Paul Altieri led the patriots at the plate going 3-4, 2 RBI's. Sophomore Gavin Agin also contributed 2 hits, including a triple. Senior JT Rowlands added a 2 run Home run. Senior Nathan FtizSimmons also had 2 RBI's on the night. Junior Bradley Hogan was 2-3 on the night. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder threw 2 perfect innings in relief. The Patriots improved to 4-1 on the season. They will open region play on Thursday with Woodruff coming to Powdersville. First pitch scheduled for 6:30. Go Patriots
Patriots drop Championship Game to Travelers Rest
The Powdersville Patriots lost in the tournament championship game by a score of 8-3 to the Devildogs of Travelers Rest. Junior Ryan Powers picked up the loss on the mound. The Patriots were led at the plate by Sophomore Josh Bookbinder who was 2-3 on night. The Patriots finish the tournament with a 3-1 record. They will be back in action for Opening Day on Monday, March 7th. The Christ Church Cavaliers travel to Powdersville for Opening Day. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30. It is also "Kid's Night" which means all kids get in FREE with a paying adult. Join us for Opening Day. Go Patriots!!
Patriots pick up a win against TR 2-0 and head to the Championship Game
The Patriots defeated the Travelers Rest Devildogs by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday night and will play in the tournament championship game. Sophomore Josh Bookbinder picked up the victory on the mound with an impressive complete game pitching performance. Bookbinder pitched 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, no runs and had 6 strikeouts. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Paul Altieri who delivered a solo homerun in the top of the 6th. With the win, the Patriots will play in the Tournament Championship on Wednesday against the Travelers Rest Devildogs. The game will be played at Travelers Rest High School with the first pitch being scheduled for 5:30. Go Patriots
Patriots defeat Greer 5-2
The Powdersville Patriots beat the Greer Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-2 on Monday night. Freshman Bobby Olsen picked up the victory for the Patriots on the mound. Senior JT Rowlands added a 2 run homerun. With the win, the Patriots improved to 2-0 in the Pre Season Tournament. The Patriots will be in action again on Tuesday night against the Travelers Rest Devildogs. First pitche scheduled for 6:00 at Travelers Rest. Go Patriots!!
Patriots open up the Pre Season Tournament with a Win
The Powdersville Patriots opened the 2016 Pre Season Tournament with a Win against the Blue Ridge Tigers by a score of 3-2 in 9 innings. The Patriots are playing in the DOGS invitational that is being played at Berea and Travelers Rest. Junior Paul Altieri picked up the victory on the mound for the Patriots. The Patriots were led at the plate by Junior Ryan Powers who was 2-3 with 2 runs score and an RBI. Junior Duffy Smith finished 2-4 with the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 8th inning. The Patriots will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 29 at Berea against Greer. Game time is 5:30. Go Patriots!!
