2020 NUWAY Summer Nationals (New Jersey)
Four NWWC athletes traveled nearly 6,000 miles over the weekend of August 21st to compete at the 2020 NUWAY Summer Nationals in Atlantic City, NJ. Over the course of six tournaments, the fearsome foursome compiled 43 matches, 39 wins, ten medals, seven individual titles and one Outstanding Wrestler award. Congratulations to all four athletes.

2020 USAW Western States Championships (Utah)
Eleven NWWC wrestlers traveled to Farmington, UT over the week of July 27th to compete for Team Washington at the 2020 USAW Western States Championships. Over the course of the three-day, three-style event, NWWC recorded 94 matches and returned home with 18 medals and three individual championships. The 2020 USAW Western States Championships featured 750 high-level wrestlers from 23 states. As a team, Washington placed 2nd. Congratulations to all eleven NWWC wrestlers.

2020 RMN USA Nationals (Iowa)
Three NWWC athletes traveled 4,200 miles over the weekend of July 25th to compete at the 2020 RMN USA Nationals in Bettendorf, IA. Over the course of the two-day, three-tournament event, Thor Michaelson of Bremerton, age 16, Lars Michaelson of Bremeron, age 15 and Mitchell Neiner of Port Orchard, age 15, tallied 31 matches, 23 wins, five medals, four individual championships, a third-place team finish (Recruitables) and zero Covid infections. The 2020 USA Nationals (RMN) drew 1500 athletes from twenty states. Congratulations to all three wrestlers.

2020 Idaho FS & GR State Championships
Thirteen NWWC wrestlers traveled to Twin Falls, ID over the weekend of July 24th to compete for Idaho’s top Freestyle & Greco-Roman honors at the 2020 Idaho Freestyle & Greco-Roman State Championships. Throughout the two-day event, NWWC tallied 86 matches, 453 match points, 33 wins, 11 pins, 33 medals and 9 individual championships. The annual state tournament drew 280 wrestlers from 64 wrestling clubs throughout the region. As a team, NWWC placed 7th and 8th respectively. Congratulations to all thirteen NWWC wrestlers.

Six NWWC wrestlers traveled to Farmington, UT over the weekend of July 17th to compete for Utah’s top Freestyle & Greco-Roman honors at the 2020 USA Utah Freestyle & Greco-Roman State Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, NWWC racked up 33 matches, 195 match points, 18 wins, 13 pins, 10 medals and 3 individual championships. 2020 IDAWAY Open
Three NWWC wrestlers traveled to Idaho Falls, ID during the week of June 22nd to compete at the 2020 IDAWAY Open. Altogether, Uriah Allen of Port Orchard, age 8, Zander Allen of Port Orchard, age 8 and Mitchell Neiner of Port Orchard, age 15, returned home with two medals, four trophies and four championships. The 2020 IDAWAY Open drew over 550 youth and high school wrestlers from 87 wrestling clubs from throughout the Northwest. Congratulations to all three NWWC wrestlers.

Weekend Wrestling Results
Twenty-five NWWC athletes traveled six-hundred miles to compete in five tournaments at two schools during opening weekend of the 2020 Freestyle & Greco-Roman wrestling season. Twenty-three NWWC wrestlers traveled to Buckley, WA on Saturday, March 7th, to throw down at the Buckley Brawl while three NWWC girls traveled to Hanford High School on Sunday, March 8th to compete at the Women's Columbia Cup. Altogether, NWWC returned home with forty-six medals and twenty-three individual championships. Congratulations to all twenty-five wrestlers.

2020 WSWA Folkstyle State Championships
Fifty NWWC wrestlers finished the 2019-2020 Folkstyle Wrestling Season with a trip to the Tacoma Dome on Sunday, February 23rd to compete among Washington's top club wrestlers at the 2020 WSWA Folkstyle State Championships. Over the course of the day, NWWC racked up 214 matches, 1,053 match points, 130 wins, 62 pins, 36 medals and seven individual championships. The annual state tournament drew nearly 1700 wrestlers from 102 wrestling clubs throughout the state. As a team, NWWC finished third. Congratulations to all fifty NWWC wrestlers.

Thirty-eight NWWC wrestlers found competition at the Skagit Valley Showdown (Burlington, WA) and the Battle in the Woods (Eatonville, WA) on Sunday, February 16. 2020 Oregon Wrestling Classic (OWC)
Nineteen NWWC athletes traveled to Redmond, Oregon over the weekend of January 18 to compete at the 2020 Oregon Wrestling Classic. Over the weekend, NWWC collected fifty-five victories, thirty-nine victories by fall, fourteen medals and five individual championships. The OWC drew over one-thousand kids and Cadet wrestlers (16U) from Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Congratulations to all nineteen NWWC athletes.

2020 Bad Draw Oregon Classic Qualifier
Thirty-one NWWC wrestlers traveled to Snohomish, WA on Sunday, January 12th to compete at the 2020 Bad Draw Oregon Classic Qualifier. Over the course of the tournament, NWWC tallied up twenty top-3 finishes, seven individual championships and Paxton Beckett of Gig Harbor, age 6, won the King Pin Award Belt. All top-3 finishers qualified to compete at the Oregon Wrestling Classic in Redmond, OR on Sunday, January 19th. The Bad Draw Oregon Classic Qualifier drew almost five-hundred athletes from forty-three wrestling clubs around the state. Congratulations to all thirty-one NWWC wrestlers and the Bad Draw leadership on a great tournament.

2019 Northwest Ultimate Wrestler
Forty-eight NWWC wrestlers welcomed over 600 athletes from throughout the Pacific Northwest to compete at the 9th annual Northwest Ultimate Wrestler tournament on Sunday, December 15th. Over the course of the day, NWWC battled to amass 804 points, sixty-two pins, twenty-nine medals, eleven individual championships and ultimately its fourth consecutive NUW team title. The 2019 Northwest Ultimate Wrestler drew over fifty wrestling clubs from the Pacific Northwest. Congratulations to all forty-eight NWWC wrestlers.

Tough Guy
Fourteen NWWC wrestlers traveled to White River High School on Friday, November 29th to throw down with 550 other youth wrestlers at the infamous Tough Guy tournament. Throughout the tournament, NWWC tallied 21 wins by fall and finished with six medals and three individual championships. 2019 TOA Northwest Bigfoot Battle
Twenty-two NWWC wrestlers traveled to Spokane, WA over the weekend of November 22nd to compete at the 2019 TOA Northwest Bigfoot Battle. Seventeen NWWC wrestlers medaled including Zander Allen of Port Orchard, age 7, Addison Hunt of Belfair, age 9, William Moran of Gig Harbor, age 9 and Lars Michaelson of Bremerton, age 14 who all finished first in their division. The Bigfoot Battle, a regional-level tournament and national-ranking qualifier, drew over 1400 top youth wrestlers from 153 wrestling clubs from Washington and the western states. Congratulations to all twenty-two NWWC wrestlers.

2019 U15 Pan American Championships
NWWC high school freshman Thor Michaelson of Bremerton, age 15, traveled to Panama City, Panama over the week of October 28th to compete for the United States at the 2019 U15 Pan American Freestyle & Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, Michaelson posted an undefeated record with wins over Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Panama and Peru. Weekend Wrestling Results
NWWC high school wrestlers Logan Parrish of Gig Harbor and Robbie Allred of Shelton traveled to Eastern Washigington and Denver, Colorado to seek out pre-season competition over the weekend of November 2nd. Over the weekend, Parrish finished first at the Lilac City Tournament while Allred finished with a 3-2 record giving up only one takedown at the Monster Mash tournament in Colorado. William and Samuel Moran of Gig Harbor traveled south to Fresno, CA to compete at the 2019 California World Challenge while Stone Hartford of Port Orchard, Mitchell Neiner of Port Orchard and Thor and Lars Michaelson of Bremerton traveled east to Greensboro, NC to compete at the 2019 Super 32 Challenge.
