173 NWWC athletes traveled to 16 states over the 2021-2022 Freestyle, Folkstyle, Greco-Roman and Beach wrestling seasons to compete in 64 wrestling tournaments. Throughout the course of competition, NWWC earned 98 WSWA state championship medals, 36 individual state titles, 20 USAW All-American honors and seven national championships. As a team, NWWC placed fourth at the WSWA Folkstyle State Championships, fourth at the WSWA Greco-Roman State Championships and first at the WSWA Freestyle State Championships. Out of 4,421 sanctioned USAW clubs, NWWC ranked 39th in the nation. Congratulations to all the NWWC wrestlers, family and friends on a glorious year in wrestling.

Ocean Shores Beach Wrestling Championships (WA)
Six NWWC wrestlers traveled to Ocean Shores, WA on Saturday, August 6th to compete at the inaugural Ocean Shores Beach Wrestling Championships. After the sand settled, NWWC finished with 18 matches, 12 wins and two individual championships. Congratulations to all six NWWC wrestlers.

Deep South Duals & Summer Nationals (AL)
NWWC's Paxton Beckett of Gig Harbor, age 8, traveled to Hoover, Alabama over the weekend of July 29th to compete at the Deep South Duals and Summer National Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, Beckett tallied a win-loss record of 10-2 and finished first at the Deep South Summer Nationals (Bantam, 70 lbs). Congratulations to Paxton Beckett.

FARGO 2022 (ND)
Seven NWWC high school athletes traveled to Fargo, ND over the week of July 15th to compete for Team Washington at the 2022 USAW 16U & Junior Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships. Over the seven days of competition, NWWC recorded sixty-three matches, thirty-seven victories and Thor Michaelson of Bremerton, age 18, captured his third Fargo All-American honor. The 2022 USAW 16U & Junior Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships is considered the world's largest wrestling competition and Fargo 2022 set an all-time record with 6,645 athletes from 48 states. Congratulations to Team Washington and all seven NWWC wrestlers.

2022 USAW Kids Nationals (UT)
Eleven NWWC wrestlers traveled to Farmington, UT over the week of June 26th to compete among the nation's top Freestyle & Greco-Roman youth wrestlers at the 2022 USAW Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships. Altogether, the eleven-man team racked up seventy-nine matches, forty-eight wins, eighteen All-American honors and six individual national titles - the most in NWWC history. The 2022 USAW Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships drew over 900 entries from 30 different states. Congratulations to all eleven NWWC wrestlers.

2022 Gut Check 3-Style (WA)
Six NWWC wrestlers traveled to Kent, WA on June 27/28 to compete at the inaugural Gut Check Summer 3-Style Tournament. Over the course of the two day, three-style event, NWWC wrestled forty-one matches and earned twenty-five victories, eleven medals and four individual championships. 2022 USAW Junior National Duals (OK)
Four NWWC wrestlers traveled to Tulsa, Ok over the week of June 13th to compete for Team Washington at the 2022 USAW Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Dual Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, NWWC racked up forty-eight matches, thirty-one individual wins and one All-Tournament Team selection. As a team, Washington finished with sixteen duals and a seventh-place finish in the Greco-Roman tournament. The 2022 USAW Junior National Duals drew nearly 700 athletes representing 37 national teams from 28 states. Congratulations to all four NWWC wrestlers.

2022 USAW 14U National Duals (IN)
NWWC's Jonathan Robles of Port Orchard, age 13, traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana over the week of June 8th to compete for Team Washington (92 lbs) at the 2022 USAW 14U National Dual Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, Robles helped Team Washington to an 8-8 overall win-loss record and 6th-place finish in the Greco-Roman tournament. The 2022 USAW 14U National Duals drew 681 athletes representing 29 states. Congratulations to Mr. Robles and our 14U National Dual Team.

WSWA Lions Den Championships (WA)
Ten NWWC wrestlers traveled to Tacoma, WA on Saturday, May 21st to compete at the inaugural Lions Den FS & GR Championships. After all was said and done, NWWC left the den with 22 medals and eight individual championships. Congratulations to all ten NWWC wrestlers.

2022 USAW Beach Wrestling Nationals (NC)
NWWC's Lars Michaelson of Bremerton, age 16, traveled to Carolina Beach, NC over the weekend of May 20th to compete among the nation's top beach wrestlers at the 2022 USAW Beach Wrestling National Championships. Over the course of the hot and humid weekend, Michaelson captured an undefeated record, earned his first Beach Wrestling National Title and qualified to compete for Team USA at the 2022 Beach Wrestling World Championships in Romania. The 2022 USAW Beach Wrestling Nationals drew hundreds of athletes from over twenty states accross the country. Congratulations to Lars Michaelson.

The Supreme Gladiator Duals & Individual Championships (NV)
Eight NWWC wrestlers traveled to Las Vegas, NV over the weekend of May 13th to compete at The Supreme Gladiator Duals & Individual Championships. Over the course of the two events, NWWC racked up 64 matches, 45 wins, four undefeated dual performances and two Outstanding Wrestler awards. The Supreme Gladiator tournaments drew over 1500 entries from 136 wrestling clubs throughout the United States. Congratulations to all eight NWWC wrestlers.

2022 FREESTYLE STATE CHAMP1ONS (WA)
Thirty-eight NWWC wrestlers traveled to Monroe, WA over the weekend of May 6th to compete at the 2022 WSWA Freestyle & Greco-Roman State Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, NWWC tallied sixty individual medals, twenty-one individual state titles, six Junior National Tournament berths (19U), six Cadet National Tournament berths (16U) and two more induction into the Legends of the WSWA freestyle hall of fame. As a team, NWWC finished first-place in the Freestyle tournament and fourth-place in the Greco-Roman tournament. Overall, the annual State Championships drew over 1200 entries from sixty-five wrestling clubs throughout the state. Congratulations to all thirty-eight NWWC wrestlers.

2022 USMC US OPEN (NV)
Four NWWC wrestlers traveled to Las Vegas, NV over the week of April 27th to compete among the United States' top age-division wrestlers at the 2022 USMC US OPEN. In their fight to qualify for Team USA and represent the United States at the 2022 UWW Pan-American and UWW World Wrestling Championships, Sam, Lars, Mitchell and Thor battled through twenty-two matches and finished with ten individual wins. Congratulations to all four NWWC wrestlers.

2022 Slam Fest (WA)
Twenty-three NWWC wrestlers traveled to Fife, WA on Saturday, April 30th to compete at the 2022 FS & GR Slam Fest. Over the course of the day, NWWC totaled forty-six medals, nineteen individual championships and two tournament team titles. Congratulations to all twenty-three NWWC wrestlers.

Southwest Washington FS & GR Wrestling Championships (WA)
Thirteen NWWC wrestlers traveled south to Battle Ground, WA on Saturday, April 16th to compete at the Southwest Washington FS & GR Wrestling Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, our thirteen wrestlers racked up twenty-seven medals and fourteen individual championships. Well done and congratulations to all thirteen NWWC wrestlers.

Weekend Wrestling Results
Twenty-six NWWC wrestlers covered three states over the weekend of April 8th to compete in six tournaments. Mitchell Neiner of Port Orchard, age 17, traveled to Jacksonville, FL to compete at Spartan Nationals & HS Duals where he earned a 7-0 record and finished first in the Greco-Roman tournament. Thor Michaelson of Bremerton, age 18, traveled to Troy, NY to compete at the 2022 Journeymen World Classic & World Duals where he finished with a 5-3 record and a 4th place finish in the Freestyle tournament. The rest of the gang traveled south to Elma, WA to compete at the Elma Freestyle & Greco-Roman tournament. Altogether, NWWC wrestled 124 matches and returned home with 37 medals and 17 individual championships. Congratulations to all twenty-six NWWC wrestlers.

Thirteen NWWC wrestlers traveled to Centralia, WA over the weekend of March 25th to compete for Team Washington at the 2022 USAW Northwest Freestyle & Greco-Roman Regional Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, NWWC earned sixteen medals, finished with four individual titles and qualified five high school boys for the Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships in Fargo, ND. Twenty-one NWWC wrestlers began the 2022 Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling season with a trip to Foss High School over the weekend of March 12th to compete at the WSWA Puget Sound 3-Style Tournament. Across the two-day event, NWWC earned thirty-three medals, eleven individual championships and the Freestyle and Greco-Roman team title. 2022 WSWA Folkstyle State Championships (WA)
Fifty NWWC wrestlers traveled to the Tacoma Dome on Sunday, February 20th to compete among Washington’s top club wrestlers at the 2022 WSWA Folkstyle State Championships. Through twelve hours of competition, NWWC racked up 203 matches, 138 wins, 66 wins by fall, 34 medals and 11 individual State Titles. As a team, NWWC finished 4th. Congratulations to all fifty wrestlers and special recognition to our eleven State Champs.

Twenty-four NWWC wrestlers traveled to Granite Falls High School on Sunday, January 9th, to compete at the 2022 Oregon Wrestling Classic Qualifier and to contend for a seed in the 2022 Oregon Wrestling Classic. Over the course of the day, NWWC racked up sixty-two matches, forty-eight wins, twenty-eight wins by fall, twenty-one medals, ten individual championships and Samuel Moran of Gig Harbor, age 10, won the King Pin Belt for the most pins in the least amount of time. 2021 NWWC Holiday Push-Up Champions
Congratulations to the twenty-four NWWC wrestlers, and one NWWC coach, who completed at least 3,000 push-ups over the two-week Winter Break. Fifteen NWWC wrestlers launched the new year with a trip to Elma, WA on Saturday, January 2nd, to compete at the 2022 WSWA Elma folkstyle tournament. 2021 WSWA Punisher Proving Grounds (WA)
Twenty-two NWWC wrestlers traveled to Granite Falls, WA on Saturday, December 11th, to compete at the 2021 WSWA Punisher Proving Grounds. Over the course of the tournament, NWWC wrestled 107 matches and racked up 83 wins, 31 medals and 15 individual championships. The WSWA Punisher Proving Grounds drew 27 clubs throughout the state. Fourteen NWWC wrestlers traveled to Spokane, WA over the weekend of November 19th to compete at the 2021 USAW Northwest Bigfoot Battle. WSWA Basin Brawl (WA)
Fourteen NWWC wrestlers drove over to Moses Lake, WA on Saturday, November 13th to compete at the 2021 Basin Brawl, the first in-state tournament of the year. Over the course of the day, NWWC racked up seventy-seven matches, fifty-seven wins, ten individual championships, 372 team points and the Basin Brawl Team Title. Two NWWC high school wrestlers traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina over the weekend of October 22nd to compete at the Super 32 Challenge, the nation's toughest high school wrestling tournament and the premier scouting event for hundreds of college wrestling coaches.
